We enjoyed our stay very much and would not hesitate to book here again. Mike was terrific at responding to any questions or concerns. We didn't do a lot of cooking but could see that the kitchen is well-stocked. The location was unbeatable. The view was awesome. The condo was very clean and comfortable. Thank you, Mike, for all the amenities included like detergent and cleaning supplies and all the beach gear. All we had to do was buy food. All in all, we have no complaints except that our time on the Big island went much too fast.
Perfect piece of heaven!
This was our first trip to the Kona coast. Upon arrival we were a little disappointed that we were not closer to “downtown”. After experiencing the traffic, we were happy to be a couple miles away. The condo was clean and looked like some interior improvements had been done; flooring, kitchen, etc. The view from the lanai was amazing for not only sunsets, but watching local surfers. We had the lanai screen doors open all the while and the sea breeze sights and sounds really added to the experience. From the condo, an easy 1 mile walk to magic sands beach. Check out the fresh tuna at the KTA grocery store...delicious. The pool area and shared facilities were no more than average, but the condo was great. Would definitely consider this location on a return trip.
We had a great stay here! The view is amazing, the complex is quiet, and the condo has everything you could possibly need. I would highly recommend!
We've stayed at Kona Bali Kai several times and love the penthouse units like #405. It has a great location in the complex that's perfect for watching surfers from the well furnished lanai and it's away from the pool so it's nice and quiet except for the waves. The main bedroom is off the lanai, not only can you sleep to the sound of the ocean, but you can see it from your pillow. I've rented from VRBO many times, but have never had a more responsive and accommodating owner than Mike. All of my inquiries were answered very quickly and he supplied all the information (and more!) that a renter could need, including contact numbers for any situation. The kitchen has been nicely remodeled and the furniture was very comfortable and close enough to the big screen TV that you didn't have to move anything like we usually have to do. There was every amenity you could ask for and the owner provides canisters of coffee and tea, etc. for guests. There was a first aid kit, flashlights, shopping bags, etc. and they were easy to find. Our only 'negative' was the master bathroom, but the owner is considering remodeling it. In the meantime, there are two separate cabinets with very shallow sinks so there isn't much counter space. There's plenty of shelves and cupboards below, however, plus a good wall mounted hair dryer. The other thing we didn't care for was the half door in the shower as it was easy for water to splash out and it got a little chilly. But these were very minor complaints. We would definitely recommend this unit for your stay in Kona.
We loved being right on the water, the unit was very nice. We little time we spent in the unit we were on the lanai watching the surfers and whales and dolfins. Spent most time exploring the island, never had time to watch tv even tho there are three! Kitchen was so well equipped with everything you might need. Enjoyed our stay and would do it again.
Mike provides you with information on many things to do and has thought of everything to make for a fun and relaxing stay. We saw turtles, whales, surfers and more from the lanai! Thanks Mike!
Great location to downtown Kona, but quieter. Beautiful view of ocean and relaxing sound of waves. Condo is in good shape and clean.
The condo was perfect for our group of four. Love how the rooms are in separate areas. Loved having two bathrooms. Kitchen was just what we needed. Our favorites were the amazing view, exploring the tide pools, and listening to the waves. The pool at the condo could use a larger hot tub but the pool itself was very clean and the water temp was perfect every time. The only negative was the 2nd bathroom shower does not stay warm long enough. This was not an issue with the master shower. The condo owner was very attentive and informative. Would definitely recommend this rental.
Loved the condo. We had the best vacation ever. Accommodations could not have been better. There is nothing like having the ocean at your back door. Watching the surfers, the paddle boarders, fish turtles and were lucky enough to watch spinner dolphins, was awesome.
