Remodeled old lake house as a lake house should be! This is a special house on a special property with unbelievable 180" views and huge lakefront. Fish from the large dock or park your own boat in the boat house. The water is fine and nothing short of fun for everyone. The tree-filled property allows a stroll to the point or simply enjoy sunrise/sunset from the huge covered deck looking over it all. Large Master w/King bed and Queen sleeper. 2nd bedroom on main floor with Queen poster bed. Upstairs rooms - 3rd bedroom 3 twin beds, 4th bedroom has 1 Full bed. There are beds for 11 heads -- with luxury linens and towels! This is a place for fun! You won't be disappointed with this lodge. The upstairs bath is remaining original to its "70's vibe". If your kids don't know anything about the 70's, here is a perfect example of the retro feel. I am taking votes - does it stay or be remodeled?
This is an amazing property that still has the old time charm of a lake cabin but with modern conveniences! You will love, love, love the new covered deck that allows you to see the world on the lake and be outdoors rain or shine (yes, we do have those rainy days- but the whole crowd can be on the deck if so.) A charming, fully appointed kitchen with stainless appliances exists but the outside grill is the way to go. You are carefree here---the house is set up for everyone to enjoy. Grab a book and curl up in the window seat, a huge cabinet is filled with games and a big screen TV sits over the fireplace and in the Master for those special games or programs, WiFi, and did I mention a huge dock for swimming and outdoor play? The boat house is yours to enjoy so bring your boat or jet skis! As you know, the place to be at Lake Martin is in the water! We just built a fire pit by the waters edge - bring your own wood and enjoy some s'mores or the flicker of flames. Get the character feel of a lodge or cottage on the lake on 55 Waterside Lane.
It is a happy place.

We really enjoyed staying at the Lodge on the Lake! From the floor plan to the furnishings, from the porch to the lakeside, it was perfect! Owner was a pleasure to deal with. Thank you for sharing your home!!
This house was perfect for our weekend getaway. Very nice on the inside and out...couldn't ask for a better place to stay! Will definitely stay there again!
We had a wonderful weekend. The sweeping views of the lake from the forested deck. The comfortable lodgings. All and all a perfect Lake Martin retreat.
First off Janet was a pleasure to work with; extremely helpful and accommodating. Property was stunning, boat slip, wrap around decks and yard to set up corn hole board made for the perfect family getaway. Home itself was comfortable, and loaded with every desirable amenity including, internet and dozens of board games. If you enjoy swimming, boating, grilling, star gazing or just relaxing with family this is a property you will enjoy.
We came all the way from Denver, CO to meet up with family. We had 10 people in the house from ages 14 - 77. For dinner one night we had 14 people for a shrimp boil and a roaring fire by the lake for of course roasting marshmellows. We never once felt like we were on top of each other. The house had everything we needed. Beds were firm (I love that) and linens were nice. The deck was where we spent all of our waking hours. Thank goodness for the 3 ceiling fans, which kept the bugs away and the air moving. The lake water was the perfect temp, always calm, deep enough to do cannonballs off the dock with easy access by boat to the boat launch, Chimney Rock and Chuck's Marina for yummy pizza. Tubbing, jet skiing, paddle boarding and floating were abundant. Never a problem with too much boat traffic. I wouldn't trade this past week with my family for anything. Thank you Janet for sharing your little piece of heaven and being very prompt with your responses.
This rental worked perfectly for us. There were 7 adults in our party ranging from 16 years old to 72. We also had up to 5 additional guests during the days. The kitchen accommodated us well. The master bedroom and bath were overly spacious, the other 3 rooms were perfectly adequate. The wrap round porch is just fantastic. It is perfectly located at the top of a hill on the end of a small peninsula. This created a constant breeze which was complemented with 3 ceiling fans. The light/fan switches were not obvious, but we did eventual master them. The breeze and fans were essential, because we stayed in late June and out door temperatures were in the upper 90's with heat indexes over 100. The house AC had no problems keeping up, which made for a nice place to retreat in between water sports. The water was good. It was around 15' deep at the dock and deeper as you ventured out. The scenery was absolutely beautiful. As we toured around the lake we saw 6 different bald eagles. There is a retaining wall around most of the developed areas of the lake. This turned out to be a mixed blessing. It made for fantastic landscapes and controlled erosion, but it echo'ed the boat waves back into the lake. As the traffic picked up the waves increased significantly. This was great for tubing, but not so good for skiing, wakeboarding, or wake surfing. We easily remedied this by going up Blue Creek where there was little to no traffic. We did have a difficult time finding a place to put the boats in. We tried Blue Creek Marina first, but they are not open to public launches. We eventually found Pace's Point, but it was a 4+ mile boat ride. Without maps, or GPS this would have been near impossible as it was not a straight route. Fortunately we had both. If you plan to launch boats, we highly recommend doing your homework in advance and knowing exactly where you are launching and where the house is located. The owners were very responsive to email, and easy to work with. If you are looking for an economical place to stay on Lake Martin, we highly recommend this one.
I cannot say enough great things about this house. The pictures and descriptions don’t do it justice. If you are looking for an “old” lake house experience, with modern amenities, in a super fabulous location—then this is your house. It is updated while maintaining that older, nostalgic feel. The house is cozy, and the outdoor porch and dock are superb! I could go on and on, but you need to see it for yourself. Again...location, location, location and an amazing house!
The place was wonderful. We enjoyed having our large family there for the weekend for a birthday celebration. the porch is the best. we pretty much lived there unless we were on the dock.
The Lodge on the Lake was wonderful for our group. From the well-stocked kitchen, the lakeside fire pit with chairs and the cozy covered deck to the comfy beds, everyone enjoyed their stay. We wish we could have stayed longer and hope to return again soon as our home for future Auburn games.
Great location with all the amenities.
