Great house in a wonderful location! It has large bedrooms with own bathrooms, pool, spa and huge dock with a manatee that greeted us on our arrival. The location was perfect for a quick and easy access to the Atlantic or Gulf. The laundry room has an ice maker which was a huge benefit to keep the fish and lobsters fresh. Palm trees are plentiful and mature so they give a nice shade to the back area and a few coconuts were available. The beach was very close but the house was so amazing that we only visited the beach 1 time. Amazing and relaxing vacation! Guy was very personable and anything we needed he was able to accommodate. Perfect vacation!
We had a fantastic stay at this very well located and beautiful Sombrero Beach propery. The house was very clean and comfortable as well as fully equipped. Guy was very nice and helpful. We definitely recommend.
This is the place to stay if you love to fish. Great dock frontage with dock power and an ice machine that works great keeping the fish cold on the boat. We never bought one bag of ice the entire week. Had the fuel truck come straight to the house for fuel...so convenient. All the bedrooms are spacious as well at the two master bathrooms. Loved having the hot tub and pool as well. Great trip...we will be back!
We stayed at this fabulous vacation spot and Guy (the Property Manager) was fantastic! He had an answer for every question and resources for a limo ride to Key West, a fuel truck and anything else we came up. He responded to every request immediately...very impressed with him and loved the house too. True 5 star service and home!
Four adults and four kids (ages 1-9) stayed here for a week in June. It's in an excellent location; across the street from Sombrero Beach, near Publix and a short boat ride to the lighthouse reef. We fished in the a.m. and lounged by the pool in the afternoon. The house is as advertised with 2 master suites and the 3rd bedroom also has its own small bath. There is plenty of dockage, an ice machine and a large, private yard. The icing on the cake is the massive mango tree on the property which was a great addition to all the mahi we caught. Guy was great and I didn't even realize that I inadvertently overpaid by $50 so when he returned the deposit it included an additional $50. Great place and we would definitely stay there again.
I have been coming to the Keys on a yearly basis since 1971. This was the best experience in the Keys that I can remember. Walking in to this house on Sombrero Beach was like walking into my own house. It felt so much like home. Access to the ocean by boat took just minutes. Sombrero Light reef was a short distance for snorkeling. We rented kayaks that were delivered to the house. Boot Key was a short paddle away. Fishing was amazing. I can't say enough good things about this place.
We arrived on Saturday at 3 PM and as expected, we were met in the driveway by Guy. First, let me say that Guy is a great guy. He explained the property in detail, gave us plenty of information, and then checked back with us on Sunday to make sure everything was perfect. Believe me, it absolutely was! The house, the pool, the spa, the dock, the commercial ice maker..........what else could one possible need? We rented a boat to enhance our vacation which perfectly fit at the dock. We also rented standup paddleboards. Paddling in the area was safe and fun. I cannot say enough good things about the property and Guy. Thank you for letting us stay. We had a spectacular time in Marathon.
Love this place! Our second year and planning to go again next year. So nice to be able to have your boat next to the house...what a convenience, with shore power and plenty of dockage. House is spacious enough for three couples with en suite bathrooms, large living room, great deck area, hot tub and pool. Kitchen is equipped nicely. Convenient to the grocery store and restaurants. Never had to buy ice since there is a commercial ice machine on the property. The public beach is just a block away. We fished every day and brought home tuna and dolphin from the Marathon Hump...22 miles off shore. We had a blast!
This house has everything that you will need for a great vacation! The property manager, Guy, is prompt with any issues or questions that may arise and he gives a thorough orientation of the property when you arrive. The dock has enough room for three boats if needed. We have two boats (greater than 25 feet each boat) docked without a problem. The rooms are large and very accomodating! Parking is excellent and you are within walking distance to the beach. This makes our second year staying at this house and have already made plans to stay next year at the same time. We love it and plan to keep returning each year!
Great place with easy access to the fun things to do in Marathon. The home is well maintained and equipped to support a Keys adventure. Easy access to the Gulf and the Atlantic. Fishing was great, Sombrero Beach an easy walk, and the pool and Jacuzzi provided family fun for all. Guy and his staff were very accommodating throughout our adventure. Enjoyed the Manatee visit and the Mangos.We do look forward to returning.
We travel to the Keys with 3 families every year. So far, this was our best house we have rented. First off, the location is great. You are so close to everything, especially the grocery store. In the past, it has taken us forever to go grocery shopping. This house was 2 miles up the street to Publix, Winn Dixie, and KMart. If you love the beach, you can walk to Sombrero Beach in about 30 seconds. We heard Reggae music coming from the beach Saturday night when we got there but did not go check it out. The dockage is the next part that stood out to us. We had 3 boats and they all fit comfortably on the extremely large sea wall. The ladders made it easy to hop in and out of the boats with no problem. We had so much fun every night just hanging out at back watching our kids catch fish and nurse sharks every night. If there is no wind the no-see-ums will eat you alive so bring bug spray. Most nights we had a nice breeze so they did not bother us. But usually they come out about an hour in the morning and an hour in the evening. The house itself was very spacious. There was plenty of room for all 8 of us. The house had counter space everywhere so storing dry groceries was easy. We actually made one counter a "sandwich station" to make lunches before we went out in the boats:) The house can get a little warm but I understand they are working on getting a new A/C unit. The water pressure for showers was great and there was plenty of hot water for 3 families. It had a nice extra fridge out in the laundry area with a brand new washer and dryer, nice bait freezer, and ice maker. The ice maker had a hard time making enough ice for 3 boats but we survived. There were black ants in the house that we didn't really notice too much at first but got worse as the week went on. But black ants don't bother us so it wasn't an issue. We loved how the doors for entry use a punch code system so it made it convenient not to use a key every time you wanted to leave. In all, it was a fantastic house. The manager of the house, Guy, met us at the house when we first got there to go through everything. He was extremely nice and communicated well with us. I texted him on our way home to let him know about 2 monogrammed towels I left there and he is putting them in the mail for me! I highly recommend this house. If this one is not for you then I recommend at least going through Guy Moreau from Tropical Property Rentals. It will be a pleasant experience.
We have been coming to the Keys for the past 5 years or so with two other families. Each year we are intent on finding THE house that we want to come back to. We always have something we wish we could change about the place (boat dock situation, tides, facilities, etc.). This is the first place we have found that we knew right away that this was THE house. We have already booked our vacation for next year. We have three boats in the 22/24 foot range. The dockage was perfect. In the past we have rented a home on a canal and were disappointed with the view as well as no breeze. This place has a perfect location with the backside facing a lagoon to the east so you have the beautiful morning view and have afternoon shade. It was very close to shopping which has also been a pain in the past. The three master bedroom suites were wonderful. The kitchen is huge and we had plenty of room to spread out while preparing our sandwiches/snacks for the day on the boat. The huge mango tree was an unexpected surprise. They were just falling out of the tree and we made several pitchers of mango daiquiris ;) Guy warned us that people would pull up and say they know the owners and were allowed to help themselves to the mangos. And actually, yes this did happen, but there were more falling to the ground than our families could use so we did share ;)
This house is perfectly located one block from Sombrero Beach, but backing to an expansive lagoon area with private boat dockage. Sombrero is the nicest beach in Marathon and one of the nicest in the Keys. We rented paddle boards and kayaks for our stay and it was a short paddle from our dock to the ocean and Sombrero Beach. We also chartered a fishing boat one day and caught and released four sailfish, as well as barracuda, a small shark and a boatload of yellowtail snapper. The first mate filleted a number of the snapper for us and we prepared them in the well equipped kitchen. Most nights however we enjoyed one of Marathon's many casual waterfront restuarants. Overall a great stay.
My husband and I vacationed with two other couples and this home was perfect for our stay last week. It has three large bedrooms with their own private bathrooms and TVs and there is a 1/4 bathroom in the main living area. The main living area is large and very easily accommodated six adults. It has a seating area with a TV and a large dining table. All TVs are flat screens with cable. The kitchen has plenty of counter space and is well equipped with appliances, dishes, silverware, etc. You will not have to buy any ice! There is a very large ice machine that will definitely fill your coolers! There is a very nice washer and dryer that definitely came in handy. There are two beautiful large patios. One patio has two large tables and chairs and a gas grill. The other large patio has the very nice Jacuzzi/hot tub and pool with lounge chairs and small tables. We paid the extra for the heated pool and it was wonderful. The pool/hot tub area is beautifully lighted and has child proof gates to enter the area. We used it every day! There is a pool company that maintains the pool and hot tub. That was really nice! This home is directly on the inter-coastal water with a beautiful lighted very long cement dock. You can fish right off of the dock! We had a baby manatee come right up into our area! Sombrero Beach is right down the street! This home is located in a beautiful quiet/peaceful area. We felt very safe walking around this area. There are many excellent restaurants/bars in this area and there are two grocery stores and a K-Mart within two miles of this home. We never had any issues or problems. I highly recommend this house if you are looking for a rental in Marathon, Fla. We had a wonderful vacation!
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this house - especially for anyone wanting to fish. It has everything you need: 1. Long lighted boat dock with power and water 2. Easy access to ocean or gulf 3. Bait freezer 4. Commercial ice machine 5. Fish cleaning station with water 6. Room for trailer parking Property is in a great location - across from Sombrero Beach and Publix is just down the street. Loved the convenience of keyless entry. Lots of thanks to Guy (property mgr), who met us for the walk through (even though he had recently injured his knee). He was very responsive throughout the rental process and extremely quick in returning our deposit. I will DEFINITELY consider renting this property again!
What a wonderful home to stay in. Perfect location. This home was perfect for my family. It was great that there was room to keep 2 boats in the water. The kids were able to come and go with the flats boat. The home was very clean and provided everything we needed.
We escaped winter in Virginia for an amazingly perfect two weeks at this paradise of a property, located in desirable Sombrero Beach neighborhood. House was impeccably clean and well appointed from kitchen to linens. HUGE screen TV in den and large TVs in all bedrooms are each cable and wifi connected. Nice pool and hot tub overlooking pristine water and just three houses from great beach! We brought our smaller boat down and loved the little boat basin conveniently on the property. Guy made it easy to totally enjoy our stay and answered all questions quickly, both before and during our stay. We highly recommend both him and this property. We will work with him again next year!
This is a great house. Super clean. Everything there we needed. Beach is right across the street. Right on the water with a beautiful pool and hot tub. Guy, the manager, was super helpful for anything we needed. Will be back for sure!
