We loved our stay! The location was perfect and super close to the beach. The view is absolutely breathtaking, and enjoyed watching the sunset every night. Raquel was very prompt in answering any of our questions upon arrival and made sure we were comfortable. Yes the downstairs bedroom is small, but knew that before we rented it as it is stated in the listing. Had no issues. Spent most of our time on the beach. Loved the convenience of having a pack n play for the baby and the toys/games that were available. This was exactly what we were looking for and enjoyed our stay! Will definitely stay here again! Thank you Raquel!
Our family recently took a long California vacation and traveled from San Francisco down to Encinitas. By far, the house in Encinitas on Neptune Avenue was everyone's favorite place to stay. After multiple hotel rooms, in multiple cities, it was so nice to have our own house for a few days. Raquel's house is absolutely amazing. The view was incredible!!! I'm not sure if our favorite thing to do was sipping coffee on the deck in the morning and watching the surfers and the dolphins, or sipping wine in the evenings and watching the beautiful sunsets. My kids loved having the boogie boards and beach toys too. We ended up skipping Legoland on our last day and spent the whole day on the beach because no one wanted to leave the neighborhood. We actually found a place for the kids to take surfing lessons too. So much fun!! The walk to the beach stairs, Stonestep Beach, is only a short distance and very private. Everyone in Encinitas was so kind. We are a family of 7, and everyone slept comfortably in the house. Whole Foods was just a short distance away, so we quickly made ourselves at home and stocked up the kitchen so we could spend as much time at the house as possible. The only bad part was leaving. :( Thank you Raquel for offering your home. We had an amazing trip to California, and your house was the perfect ending. We hope to come back again! We loved the location & could walk to the beach or the Main Street for restaurants etc. The house had it all. Didn't mind the smaller room downstairs as it was great for one who wanted a quieter room! Loved the balcony and the fireplace. Best New Year's Eve in a long time!
Access to the beach was easy. Close to the town of Encinitas where all the shops and restaurants are.
My husband and our two kids - ages 3 and 1 - had an absolutely great time for six days in this house. The deck was obviously the most amazing part. The view is unbeatable -- we watched surfers every morning and saw dolphins in the evening. Moonlight Beach was just a short walk away (tip: we brought a wagon to haul the kids and all our stuff down there!). I personally preferred Tamarack Beach though, which was about a 10-minute drive away. It just had fluffier sand and was far less crowded. But Moonlight had a great playground that the kids loved. The neighborhood was great -- tons of restaurant options nearby and don't miss the nearby farmer's market on Sunday mornings. The neighbors were super nice. And, it was super convenient to have a pack-n-play here for the baby, a well-stocked kitchen, beach towels and a washer and dryer. My only tiny criticism would be that the house could use a few minor updates -- the furniture, beds, sheets and towels were well-loved, and the board games were missing pieces. But as for the downstairs bedroom, while it is only the size of the bed that occupies it, it worked great for our three-year-old who thought sleeping downstairs was some super cool hideaway or something. All in all, we'd definitely return here!
We had a wonderful time.
We really enjoyed our stay - the home is beautiful with a lovely patio, clean and nicely stocked. The owner contacted us to say the previous guests got ink on some furniture and they took care of it the next day, while we were out. We had 2 exchange students with us who loved the view of the ocean from the house! There are a few things that would have made it better: the bedroom downstairs was usable but not exactly a bedroom (as someone else posted). Upgraded mattresses and bedding would be nice. And would have been good to have laundry soap available if guests are expected to start laundry prior to leaving (though we may not have seen it). Other than that, we would recommend the place!
We fell in love with Encinitas! Darling downtown, easy access to restaurants and of course, the beach!! We spent hours on the deck watching the surfers and the dolphins. Wish we had stayed longer. The house is a lovely beach house. Thanks for having beach towels and sand toys. We shall return!!
We enjoyed a lovely time for our daughters 16th birthday! The view from the deck is gorgeous. We enjoyed morning coffee and evening sunsets every night. About one block from beach access made it super easy to take in beach fun during the day. Raquel was easily reached via email or text for any questions during the rental process. We loved every minute and hope to rent again sometime! Thank you!
This is a comfortable house with a very good kitchen and an incredible view which you can enjoy from the huge picture window in the living room or from the deck overlooking the ocean. Our host was helpful, but because there was no welcome book, we had to write her for help more than should have been necessary. There were four of us, and the house could have supported two more very comfortably. We'd definitely rent the house again if the opportunity presents itself.
