This custom home with dramatic ocean views is a shingle style design, with post & beam construction. It features a spacious, open floor plan and extensive windows bringing in light and fresh ocean breezes. A central hallway adds light to the interior of the first floor from a cupola high above. A massive granite fireplace centers the living room and a gourmet kitchen featuring a Viking gas range, Sub Zero refrigerator, expansive granite center Island; temperature controlled wine storage and two dishwashers. A wrap-around porch and spacious private patio provides for outside living. Ocean views abound from second floor decks. Evening sunset views across the moors is a great way to end the day. Property is situated on a cul-de-sac, private road with ample lawns for kids to play safely. Nantucket has an extensive network of paved bike/walking trails to safely travel all over the Island. A seasonal bus service will also take you to any part of the Island. World class restaurants, antique stores, deep sea fishing and long days at one of the numerous beaches are just a few things to do, using this home as a base. The center of the village of Siasconset is a short walk and features dinning; post office; general store and many buildings dating to the 17th century. Summers are generally warm with gentle ocean breezes and walking is a pleasure with reduced speed limits in the village - "20 is plenty in Sconset". |

We have had the opportunity to stay at this location on a couple of occasions and were completely charmed by its architecture, the openness of the rooms and the magnificent kitchen, where most of our entertaining has been done. This property provides exceptional privacy, solitude and the opportunity to completely unwind. Leaving is the most difficult part of renting this property! My wife and I recommend this location to anyone who wants to get away - in style.
A warm, large, and charming house, which speaks of Nantucket with grace and grandeur. Plenty of room for everyone, with private places, and a lookout tower! From the fist approach, the house is characteristically New England and especially, Nantucket. Very warm furnishing and well equipped. Really wasn't anything we needed that wasn't in the house already. Location is great on a quiet area with easy ride to town, and great views on the way. Fabulous kitchen, built for a real chef and a living room with spectacular stone fireplace. Felt at home from the first view of from the driveway, and it only got better.
We had the opportunity to take an early spring break in Sconset. Not the most ideal time weather wize, but the warmth and ambience of the house (Eastport) overcame the spring showers of Sconset. The daffodils around the house didn't seem to mind the weather and the a warm fire in an absolutely magnificent fireplace was a wonderful gathering point at the end of the day. The kitchen was obviously designed and outfitted by someone who loves to cook and was big enough for all of us (6 adults) to gather in to create great meals when we dinned at the house. We did have some bright sunny days and it was a pleasant walk to the village, Cod Fish Park and along the Sconset bluff. Eastport was a perfect getaway and the house was all it was advertised to be. We hope to make this a tradition - beat the crowds of summer.
This is our 3rd time back to summer at Eastport. We love the house. It is most accommodating to our family gathering....as we also have taken advantage of the nearby cottage. The house is spacious and the kitchen is well equipped with 2 ovens, 2 sinks, 2 dishwashers and a wine fridge to go along with the main fridge as we all enjoy gathering for drinks and dinner. The bluestone patio invites us throughout the day--around the table enjoying a bite to eat or in the lounge chairs reading a book. Morning coffee on the second floor front patio is also welcoming with the ocean in the distance. The house is close to Low Beach where our guys fished and we watched the seals. It's also a short walk or bike ride to Sconset Village. We enjoyed a daily shop at nearby Bartlett Farm truck to literally eat farm to table. Familiar with the island we enjoyed many of the beaches but were always happy to return "home" to Eastport at the end of our day. It's always sad to leave Nantucket but we hope to be back again next summer!
Terrific headquarters for a family vacation. Remote enough for privacy, kid friendly and close enough to walk to great dining.
Beautiful home and gardens, short walk to beach, kind owner and terrific caretaking team!
