EXTREME LUXURY & PRIVACY, QUIET, 3-ACRE ESTATE, 3 SUITES,HOT TUB UNDER THE STARS

Our family's stay (4 adults, 2 older kids) at the Volcano Rainforest Lodge was one of the highlights of our trip to the Big Island. We had a "busy" first leg of our 12-night Hawaii vacation with 5 nights on Oahu and we were all looking forward to slower-paced family time on the Big Island. As other reviewers have noted, the property is near immaculate - heavily stocked and modern kitchen, thoughtful additions in each bedroom and bathroom and an all around beautiful property. Sharon the on-property manager was friendly, thorough and readily available for any request. We made frequent use of the outdoor hot-tub (required a one-time reset by Sharon to get it hot enough) because where else can you relax in a private rainforest with a view of shooting stars through a canopy of trees surrounded by a symphony of coqui frogs. Convenient touches were the washer/dryer, snorkel gear (that we tried out at Hilo Robertson's beach), beach towels, blankets, games, pantry items, Keurig coffee makers + coffee in every room, and lots of food that was already stocked in the fridge. The wrap-around lanai was awesome and my aunt & uncle spent days there just hanging out. One porch-facing bedroom had two twin beds (could be setup as one king if needed), perfect for kids. The master bedroom had a comfy bed and spa-level bathroom with walk-in shower and jacuzzi tub. Also, the master bedroom/bath + twin-bed bedroom/bath were basically on one side of the house's main entry with the other bedroom/bath across the main entry on the other side. You could close off doors to basically make it like a mini wing of the house for each family - perfect setup for our group. The immediate road into the property was definitely remote and unpaved, but not a problem if you go slow. Careful if you have multiple cars on the curvy driveway, best to work out who's leaving when so you don't block each other in or park so each car can get past one another. We did tend to not want to be out late in Hilo because we didn't want to be driving on the highways and remote areas too late after dark. But this property is great to be at evenings and nights because you have your own private rainforest! Playing games, relaxing listening to music, eating dinner at the beautiful dining table or just enjoying the environment with family was exactly what we wanted and what we got at this property. Highly highly recommend - most unique and best rental property we've ever had the privilege of visiting

This house and the location were truly paradise. Everything in the house is so thoughtful and comfortable. You can tell Sharon has thought of everything and really wants her guests to feel at home. The kitchen was well stocked. We cooked many big meals including Christmas dinner. There are plenty of towels and beach towels and even sand toys and boogie boards. The beds and bedding were comfortable and the rooms and bathrooms are very nice and spacious. We loved coming home after a day of exploring and sitting around the wood fireplace. The beauty of the house and the grounds really blew us away. You have to experience it for yourself. I would recommend this home to anyone and would stay here again in a heartbeat. We have stayed at many wonderful rental homes all around the world and this was our very favorite! I don’t say that lightly. Lovely property in a beautiful setting. Communication was superb from start to finish. Amazingly well stocked kitchen. Can’t rate it highly enough.

I have stayed at many properties around the country and this one was the best for many reasons. The home is as beautiful and spacious as described. Don't buy much at the grocery store before arriving because the kitchen, fridge, laundry room and pantry are stocked. If you forgot something at home, it is probably in this house. The property manager, Sharon, has thought of all your creature comforts and supplied them. This is all on top of the home already being a five star property. It is beautiful as are the surrounding grounds. You have complete privacy in this quiet, serene setting. The entrance to Volcano National Park is only 5 minutes away but you may surprise yourself and spend more time at this house than in the park. Do yourself a favor and book this property!

This property is a true gem. Just book it. Extremely well built and equipped. From the delicious banana bread that Sharon dropped off when we arrived to the ease of access to everything we wanted to see on this side of the island - this exceeded our expectations. Clean, comfortable, amazing location and landscaping - we were really sad to have to leave.

This house is exquisite luxury in a stunning setting. The house itself is one-of-a-kind with rock and wood combining to make an architectural masterpiece. Inside the decor is unique with many Hawaiian-themed items. We loved the views of the rainforest from every window. Everything is high-end and the amenities are plentiful. The bedrooms are large and comfortable, the bathrooms impeccably clean and well-supplied, the kitchen is gorgeous with the refrigerator stocked with all sorts of goodies. We enjoyed meeting Sharon and we are sure she has many interesting stories to tell. Her banana nut bread is legendary. My three sisters and I loved our stay in the rainforest and would highly recommend this property to anyone.

Absolutely great home, beautifully finished and well supplied. Would stay again in a heart beat the next time we are in Volcano.

This is a very special place in the rainforest! The house is beautiful, fully loaded and very private. Sharon was a joy and very accommodating. The Banana Bread provided was incredible. We will certainly be back and highly recommend this property. Bert and Cheryl Trapanese
