All you will hear are the birds in this serene desert home and walled garden,--your own oasis. This beautiful owner-built pueblo-style home opens out into beautiful vistas in all directions. Walk to the front porch and enjoy the walled garden full of cactus, desert plants, fruit tree, herbs and (in season) vegetables. Go through the french doors off the bedroom and enjoy the private outdoor shower and bathtub nestled into the side of 'Coyote Hill'. Just a six-minute drive from the entrance of the Joshua Tree National Park, and ten-minutes from the shops and restaurants of the 'village' of Joshua tree, you will feel like you are just where you want to be. Nestled into the foothills of the Little San Bernardino Mountains, this sparsely populated neighborhood boasts of wonderful walks, hikes and wildlife viewing opportunities, right here. You will enjoy the fully appointed kitchen, beautifully furnished master bedroom and bath with unique interior stucco walls, and many other handbuilt touches. It is kept sparkling clean by Piper who owned a bed and breakfast in Hawaii for seven years, and currently helps take care of several other vacation rentals in the area. |

So enjoyed this lovely little house with easy access to the park. Hiked everyday and relaxed at the house with wine and the sunset every night. Thank you!
Our visit to Joshua Tree was complete, with our stay at Piper's house. It was very cozy and spacious. Everything we needed was there, and her eclectic collection of artifacts decorating the house was such a visual treat. Piper was great in communicating all the details. Thanks!
Piper's place was perfect for exploring Joshua Tree. The house felt like an authentic desert abode. She was very responsive to some heating issues (it was freezing in February) and we figured out how to get the pellet burning stove cranking. Wish we could have enjoyed hanging out in the quirky yard, but as I said, temps were in the 30s.
I can't imagian a better place to spend time at Joahua Tree!! This lovely home surround by the natures beauty!
My son and I spent one night at the house after visiting Las Vegas and before heading to the National Park. It is amazingly cozy with a pellet-burning stove (it was cold and windy outside) and many, many blankets and pillows. We brought groceries and truly appreciated the well-stocked kitchen—every pot/pan you can imagine; nice, solid crockery. There is no microwave, but there is a wonderful toaster and coffee pot with coffee and filters. I wish we could have sat outside to enjoy the view, but it was so windy in the evening and rainy that morning. However, we totally relaxed on the comfortable furniture and read (there are tons of books in the bedroom). The location is excellent—very close to the park entrance and to the town of Joshua Tree. We were a bit worried that the neighborhood is all dirt roads (looking around Joshua Tree, it seems most neighborhoods have dirt roads). We had an SUV and had no problem. I would definitely stay there again!
My family of 4 was only here one night but it was a great memory on our trip. The house is very rustic. There is a full kitchen and bathroom but overall it still feels more like a cabin than a house. That said, if you are looking for a getaway with great views, this house is excellent and very affordable. Also, while we never met the owner in person she was very responsive and came across as a good person. Other than the outside bathtub, the thing that gave this house so much personality was all the owners collections everywhere - bottles, books, records, etc. it was interesting.
It was peaceful, comfortable, inviting, and so relaxing! Thank you Piper for an amazing stay!
Only spent a night here but it was very impressionable. Piper was very helpful and made sure our visit was successful. We went to the Joshua Tree Astronomy Arts Theater to view the meteors and loved it. We were so happy that upon returning to the property, we were still able to view the beauty of the skies without much light pollution. An amazing stay at a very charming home. Would definitely return back!
Cozy, quiet, clean, colorful cottage to take in the beauty of the desert. Will be back again.
Situated in the highlands of Joshua Tree we watched the ever changing skies over the surrounding mountains. The absence of streetlights and traffic added to the ambiance of the neighborhood. Great dirt roads for walking and hiking or a peaceful garden at the house for doing nothing at all. There is a Southwest, rustic charm to the house. From the covered front porch we watched quail and jack rabbits in the private yard. It was very clean, well stocked and comfortable. Books filled the shelves and an eclectic library of videos were available as well. The house is located only minutes from the west entrance to beautiful Joshua Tree National Park. We were fortunate to meet the owner, Piper. She was very responsive throughout the process and visit. We’re looking forward to our next visit!
Loved the individual nature of this house. Location brilliant. Reception personal and friendly. Facilities: everything we needed. Extra bonus: nearby nature reserve where we walked freely to see flora and fauna. One point: in a water-stressed area be good to have a functionong wash-basin plug. We loved our stay - thank you Piper. Annemie and Pete
