Like old plantation homes, the hotel connects to the garden, spas and pools through a beautiful grotto and waterfall. Discover a tropical landscape of cascading waterfalls and exotic lagoons. The resort has a business center and banquet/meeting rooms. It is close to exotic hiking, boating, fishing, snorkeling, helicopter tours, kayaking, paddle boarding, luaus, waterfalls, historic walks, and several nearby golf courses.
Relax in room 2544 with two double serenity beds, high speed internet access, WiFi, cable TV, travertine and marble bathroom ,and a private lanai with an ocean and pool view. The lounge down the hall has a microwave, and large comfy sofas. You can relax while you warm up dinner to enjoy back on your private lanai. This luxury accommodation is also a bargain. WiFi is free. Free use of sauna too!
When renting here, any odd number room is facing the parking lot or away from the pool/ocean view. The 5th floor is the top floor, which is where our great view room is in building 5.
There is a one time $100. resort fee and a $100. check-out cleaning fee that will be charged with your final payment. If you reserve seven days or more, the resort suggests you have a mid-week complete cleaning for $75. They will do a full cleaning and restock your room. They do stock the room with two rolls of toilet paper, but if you aren’t there for seven days and feel like you might need more, I would pick up a four pack at Walmart. The resort has a daily parking fee of $25. that is charged by the resort upon checking out. If you want your towels and trash changed, it is $15. per request. We have lowered our nightly rates to off set some of the fees. We are not in the hotel rental pool, so our guests aren't able to take part in the occasional craft activities and complementary mai tais at the hula show on Tuesdays. Please include your phone number on your reservation too.
We have stayed in several rooms and this room is on the top floor and has the best view of the combination of ocean, pools, mountains and coastline. This room is an elevator ride up from the check-in lobby and the icemaker is close to the room. We appreciated the lounge just down from this room that has a micowave for heating up the leftovers you have from the great dinner's at the restaurant. The poolside dining is pretty nice too.
The Kauai Beach Resort is several more times lovely and inviting than any pictures could describe. Each detaiil in the listing for both the resort and the rental unit were exactly as described, and made even better experiencing it first hand. The hotel, gardens and pools are spotless, and the hotel staff is hospitable at all times. While the food in the dining room is excellent, with larger portions than average, the Resort is close to many other fine restaurants, as well as shopping and several of the key attractions on Kauai. At the end of a busy day, it's a real treat to return to the Resort, and some days you'll just want to stay here relazing by the pool and walking on the beach,. One very nice bonus is the great view from the rental unit, combining a clear view of the pools and waterfalls, the ocean and pounding surf in the background. Took many photos of this excellent view. I very highly recommend this unit and resort to anyone seeking a complete escape from their ordinary lives, if only for a week or two.
The Kauai Beach Resort is even better than the pictures. We had a wonderful time during the week we stayed at the resort. The room was beautiful and the linens were top of the line. The food was great and not overly expensive. The food at the pool bar was especially tasty, and the portions were very large. One order was always plenty for my husband and I to share. I thought the mixed drinks were overpriced but you can bring your own drinks to the pool area. The wine and beer were about the same price as here. I've been raving about the resort and VRBO since we returned home. We saw couples of all ages enjoying the resort along with families with young children. But, mostly we saw older couples (50+) but we were there in late January when most kids are in school. I highly recommend this rental. You will enjoy working with Donna. She makes the whole process easy. Lois
We spent a week at the resort with our two boys aged 3 & 5. They loved the pools, waterfalls and waterslide. Although it is not a swimmers beach it is great for little tide pools and discovering fish, crabs, sea cucumbers and beautiful shells and coral. We ate many meals at the hotel and liked the pool side bar the best for choice, cost and the view. The room was lovely with very comfy beds. For a hotel room, it was spacious enough to have 4 kids watching movies and 4 adults playing cards at the table. The view was wonderful and just a few steps down the hall was a large outside landing that gave you an even greater view! It was very convenient to have the microwave down the hall for heating up leftovers. The staff were very friendly and gave you fresh beach towels any time, which was often three times a day! The location of the resort is very central and is great if you have a car and plan on travelling all over the island. In my opinion the best beaches are in the north and south, and you are about 30-45 minutes from either end, depending on traffic. However there is really nothing within walking distance, you must drive everywhere. Lots of restaurants nearby and affordable grocery shopping. Kauai Pasta was excellent & Kauai pho was great for a quick affordable meal. There is a nice little coffee shop in the gift shop and suprisingly the souvernirs in the gift shop are not way overpriced! The tshirts and trinkets are on par with many of the other stores on the island. Overall I was happy with the room and the resort. The pictures don't do the grounds justice, it really is a very beautiful and lush resort, with lots of walking paths and bridges and little lagoons. Take the kids out at night to catch frogs! Mahalo Donna for all your help and special consideration!
We had a wonderful time... enjoyed the 3 pools and saunas, the tiki bar, and hula show and free mai tai's on Tuesday nights. The location was perfect for seeing the central and southern parts of the island. The view from the room was excellent - the pools and waterfalls, and the ocean in the background. We enjoyed hearing the birds every morning from the balcony (as well as a few roosters!)... The highlight of the trip was the catamaran trip to the Napali Coast. The concierge was excellent in making all our arrangements. We also enjoyed the zip line and kayak trip. We'll definitely be back! Thanks Donna!
Our family of 5 (3 young kids) stayed here comfortably over the Christmas/New Year week. The view is terrific, and looking out unto the pool was ideal for us. Too bad this survey doesn't have a place for my pictures, 2 mornings rainbows landed in the pools for added viewing enjoyment. Bed and sheets are new and super comfortable. The kitchen is very sparce, no microwave and tiny refrigerator. The food in the hotel is OK - a decent 2nd cup of morning coffee is best purchased at the Gift Shop to save you from Starbucks pricing at the restaurant. The coffee tasted the same to me. Overall, good food and service, but I recommend getting out and exploring. Concierge was very helpful and the pool shack has good rental rates on high quality snorkle gear. For food, we really enjoyed Dukes, just down the road - and the Taco Shack up in Hanalea where the beaches are very swimable with excellent snorkling. This is a terrific room in an aging but good hotel. We enjoyed its location in Lihue since we travelled to both ends of the island during our stay. So glad we chose this place, it was an excellent home base for a perfect vacation.
Wouldn't change a thing about ou stay ~ the view from our room was fabulous ~ nothing better then being able to watch Whale's Breaching from the comfort of our Lani ~ location of the hotel was perfect ~ 2 hours north and 2 hours south covers the island ~ all new asphalt roads were great. Favorite things ~ lounging by the resort sand pool on the grass knoll, Jurassic Park Helicopter Trip a must!! Good lunch eats at Mermaids and Fish Express as well as dinner at Dukes and Hukilau Lanai ~ Winter time for Whales and 70's ~ Spring Summer Fall for Snorkling and 80's. Lonely Planet travel book was right on about so many things and gave great day trip ideas. Mahalo Donna for all of your help ~ you were right your room has a Wonderful View ~ it made our stay!!
We are a couple from germany. Everything was perfect. We can go along with our previous speaker. If we come back to Kauai - we would like to stay here again we can really recommend this unit . MAHALO Donna.
We truly enjoyed the Kuaui Beach resort and the King Sized Room for the first 5 days of our honeymoon. Thank you to Donna for such a wonderful place to stay- Mahalo! The view was perfect in every way- the beach, pool, and mountains were all visible out the window. The room was clean and very comfortable and the resort was in a perfect location to explore the island! We watched the sunrise almost every morning off of our lanai, and the KBR is certainly top notch in every way with delicious food at the restaurants. We loved our helicopter tour with Jack Harter and kayaked the entire Napali Coast (which was not for the faint of heart!) We also enjoyed eating at the Beach House in Poipu and the Dolphin in Hanalei. Hanalei certainly has the best beaches to visit. This Island is truly magical, and we would come back and stay here in a heartbeat!
My husband and I stayed at this resort in the past, so we knew we wanted to stay here again for our trip this year. The room was great! We had never used VRBO before, and we were pleasantly surprised to find this room. Donna was great! She helped answer any questions I had prior to booking (quite a few) and kept me updated and informed about the resort throughout the months leading to our stay. She even helped us with a late check out the day we were leaving! It was so nice and easy from booking the room to checking out at the hotel. The room was amazing. We loved the view of the pool/ocean. The sunrises were spectacular! The room was clean and well-maintained. The hotel staff are great and very helpful as well. The location of the resort is close to everything. You are not more than 90 minutes from any side of the island and close to shops and restaurants. Renting a car is helpful! We have been to the island twice before and love everything about the island. My husband and I like to hike and snorkel and this island is perfect for that. We spent time snorkeling on the south shore near Poipu and also along the east shore at Kalapaki beach and Lydgate beach. We took a day and hiked the Kalalau trail back to the falls which was an amazing hike! Waimea Canyon is also awesome to see and the hikes around the canyon are breathtaking. We rented bicycles from Hele on Kauai Bike Rentals, 2 bikes for 2 hours for $20! We rode the Ke Ala Hele Makalae trail which is a paved path along the east cost. It's a beautiful path. As you can see, there are so many wonderful things to do on the island! Both my husband and I would recommend doing the helicopter tour of the island if you have the chance. We did the tour on our first trip to the island, so many of the things we have done we have both the land and air perspectives. We ate at some great places while on Kauai. It is tough for us because I have to eat gluten free, but on the island there are a great variety of restaurants that cater to dietary needs. Duke's Canoe Club, Verde, and Pau Hana Pizza are some of the delicious places we ate. My husband has tried many shaved ice vendors and feels that Hee Fat in Kapaa is the best. The macadamia nut milkshakes from Shave Ice Paradise in Hanalei are to die for! If you are looking for a good breakfast, Kalaheo Cafe is delicious. I could go on and on about all the things I love about this island. We love staying at this resort and cannot wait to be back (hopefully soon)!
This room at Kauai Beach Resort was exactly as advertised. The room was clean and quiet and comes with a small refrigerator plus a safe big enough for cameras, notebooks, iphones, etc. There is a small sitting area down the hall which worked well when one person got up early or wanted to stay up late reading. The view from the small balcony is exactly as pictured in the listing and it is a nice spot to sit with a drink after dinner (or head down to the fire pit and relax while chatting with other guests). The hotel is clean overall and the staff is friendly. Young children, in particular, will love the pools and the water slide. The location worked well for us as it is close to river kayaking and about halfway between activities on the north and south sides of the island. My only complaint is that the local roosters crow at night so we learned to close the door to the balcony as we slept (which meant no ocean sounds). Not the hotel's fault though as chickens are everywhere there.
This is a great rental on a great location. It is central to everything on the island. The rental is well appointed and clean. You have a great view of the pool and the ocean from your room. You have nightly activities at the property to keep you entertained, should you need it. Great pool for adult and kids, but the chairs and towels are not the best choice. The ocean in front of the hotel is not ideal for swimming, but you can take a short drive up the coast and access several beaches that offer you some of the best swimming spots on the island. Let me also add that this is not a 4 or 5 star property, so if you are looking for more luxury and refinement, you should look into other major brands (Marriott, Sheraton, Hyatt and St. Regis).
