About the Property
Aunt Muriel came to Kanab to visit her sister in the 30’s, married a cowboy named Billy, and never left. In the 70’s she built her dream house on the same block as her sister, Ida Riggs, owner of the Cross R Ranch House (Wonderful Historic Craftsman Bungalow). The one story Comfortable Brick Rambler, newly renovated, consists of three bedrooms, two with queens and one with twins, located two blocks from downtown Kanab. It also has two baths, a laundry, a dining area and a fully equipped kitchen. The living room has newly installed hardwood floors, a wood burning fireplace, a flat screen television and a DVD player. There are comfy sofas to relax on and movies to enjoy. The yard is fully fenced and landscaped and has a patio on which our guests can barbecue. Muriel was a prize winning gardener and the yard still reflects her touch. Kanab is a perfect base from which to explore Southern Utah. The North Rim of the Grand Canyon, Zion, Bryce and Best Friends Animal Sanctuary are just a few of the many scenic areas to visit. A special time to visit Kanab is during Western Legends Roundup usually the last weekend in August. Owners are Dianne and Lynn Riggs, residents on Minnesota and co-owners of the Cross R Ranch House (Wonderful Historic Craftsman Bungalow). They bought the house in 2007 from Muriel’s estate. For large groups, consider renting the Cross R Ranch House (HomeAway 293990) in addition to Muriel’s Place. They are on the same block, one house apart. |

We enjoyed our stay in Muriel's Place! It is clean, comfortable and in a great location, within walking distance of stores and restaurants. The fenced back yard was very nice for our dog. We will definitely rent Muriel's Place again.
This is a darling house and overall set up, especially the backyard. We felt so comfortable and welcomed. The house was very comfortable and had everything we needed.
We stayed in the house for more than a week and it was very comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped, the bathrooms are very nice and the bed we used is comfortable. Kanab is a friendly little town and the house is easy walking distance to the Kane County Visitor Center, restaurants, shopping, and groceries. The town is convenient to many beautiful hiking and sightseeing areas. It was wonderful to be able to bring our dog with us.
Very nice home in nice location with inviting back yard. Dogs really appreciated the yard. House was very clean with no sign of previous pet visitors.
we love the yard and the ability to have sleepover dogs from best friends. house is always very clean and much more reasonable to stay in than a hotel. the owners are easy to contact and deposit refunded very quickly.
Very clean. Excellent location. Every thing I needed was there. Comfy cozy. Only thing I didn’t like was the roku platform. But then I wasn’t there to watch tv. Plenty of entertainment and beauty all around.
Muriel's Place is very comfortable and well equipped. Convenient location walking distance from several very good restaurants. It made a good base for day trips to Bryce and Zion. Slight snafu on check in as the entry instructions were out of date and the swamp cooler wasn't working but a couple of calls to the owner and everything was quickly straightened out. We'll definitely stay here next time we're in the area!
Super way to experience Utah for the first time! Property exceeded all our needs — homey, well equipped, easy communication with owner throughout the process. Comfortable for our family of 4; good reccos and tips for things to do. Did 2 days at Best Friends including a dog sleepover; house was very well equipped for it. Liked that we could easily walk to the restaurants and shops in town. Highly recommended!
The home is great with spacious rooms and living areas. Beautiful enclosed yard with grass and patio ideal for grilling or just hanging out. Location is perfect, just a couple of blocks from restaurants, shops museums and grocery stores. Located in Kanab it is a perfect center of operations to visit the surrounding attractions like Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, Bryce Canyon, Zion National Park or Lake Powell just to name a few.
