Our family of 10 stayed in this villa the last week of June 2014. This unit was absolutely perfect! The view from the deck can't be beat. The view offers not only the magnificent view of the ocean and sea faring vessels, but this end unit sits next to a desert hillside where you can also view the wild life scenery. The owner, the concierge and the entire staff were unbelievably accommodating. . . . . we wanted for nothing!! All the units at Monte Cristo are maintained impeccably, both inside and out. We much appreciated the daily maid service; especially with three small children in the group. The private infinity pool, of course, was the main attraction for the kids and adults alike. We thoroughly enjoyed everything about this villa and would recommend it without hesitation. Joan V. Longmont, Colorado
It was my 50th birthday and my husband sent 7 of my girlfriends and I to Cabo San Lucas we stayed in a Villa at Montecristo Estates. The Villa was magnificent and the views from the deck of Sunset beach and the Pacific Ocean were fantastic. We had a private concierge who was awesome he took care of all our dinner reservations, spa reservations, site seeing trips and made sure we arrived everywhere on time. We had our own maid who came everyday who gave us extra towels and cleaned up after us. It was like being at home when my cleaning lady comes. The house smelled awesome everyday and it was spotless. Everything we asked for was addressed immediately. All the villas at Montecristo are very well maintained and looked brand new. The private infinity pool and hot tub were great. We had a pool man who came everyday he kept them spotless. We plan to return again as we really loved everything about this villa and we would highly recommend it. In addition, the owner is a sweat heart he provided us with information on activities, rental cars, restaurant recommendations and maps. He went above and beyond to make sure we had the time of our lives. Wendy, Beverly Hills, California
Six of us travel every year in October and last year we chose Cabo San Lucas and to stay in a Villa at the Montecristo Estates. There is never a dull moment in our lives and planning this trip was no exception - but even hurricanes Odile, Faye and Gonzalo couldn't stop us! Everything about our trip was wonderful - the weather, the service, the food and drinks (we tried most restaurants at Sunset Beach and Pacifica and all of the pool bars!) the entertainment and the transportation. The villa itself was absolutely fantastic with gorgeous tile and furnishings, a pool and hot tub, housekeeping services and the views were JUST amazing. Our private concierge took care of all of our reservations and the small grocery store at Sunset beach had everything we needed if we didn't want to venture off property - which we didn't ! :-) Robert Childs who we made the reservations through was terrific - he helped us find a villa when the one we originally booked was damaged by Odile and he gave terrific recommendations for sight seeing, fishing and restaurants in Cabo. He went above the call of duty to make sure we had a great time, and we did. It is our pleasure to recommend this property to friends and family and we're hoping to be back in the not too distant future!
OK, I admit, we've been here before. Using photos and descriptions of what to expect, we easily convinced four couples (2 the first 8 days and 2 couples the last 7 days) to join us for time away from snow, ice, cold temperatures, etc., etc.. Upon arrival, our personal concierge spent time explaining all of the features of the Villa. Since we've been here before, it was a refresher. The guys liked it while the wives stood on the patio overlooking the private infinity pool and the Pacific Ocean! A site to behold. After checking out the Villa's many over-the-edge features - three Master suites, private hot tub that seats six, the Weber grill, etc., etc., we called for a golf-cart pickup so that we could get a tour of the adjacent Sunset Beach resort. After a relaxing guided tour highlighting the swim-up bars for Happy Hour, we returned to the Villa to freshen up for dinner down at the grill. The wives made spa appointments while the guys sat on the patio and watched the fishing boats return to port. Our personal concierge made recommendations for dinners, a half-day fishing outing, which turned out to be directly in front of the Villas, and for a snorkeling beach a short drive away. By now you probably have concluded that we love this place. It is more than advertized and is sure to please everyone! Last year, we had 4 college age children along with 6 adults and we had a blast! There's nothing the staff can't handle - want more ice for a party, they gladly bring it in 10 minutes; need bed made up for a guest, done; need peace and quiet while watching humpback whales lunge out of the ocean within sight of your villa while drinking your morning coffee, check; watching the sunset while holding a cold adult beverage, check and check! While you need a car, taxi fare is $3 per person to downtown and you don't have to worry about drinking and driving. I'd recommend spending an entire day at the Pacifica resort (adults only) just below Montecristo for a very relaxing experience. Complimentary shuttle service between the resorts is very nice. Also, sign at the resort and it will be transferred to your master bill. They think of everything! While we were there my wife pointed out how nice it was to have a housekeeper who cleaned and changed all linens daily, a personal concierge to handle reservations and provide local color commentary, a gardener who keep the flowers looking great, a pool boy to clean the pool and hot-tub daily along with drivers!
We had a wonderful spring break week at Monte Cristo Villas. All 3 generations enjoyed our time there. Our 2 granddaughters loved the flowers in the heated infinity pool everyday and the towel animals and flowers on their beds everyday. All 3 bedrooms had their own bathroom and a powder room upstairs gave everyone their own space and privacy. The kitchen was fully equipped and we made breakfast and lunch a few days. A heated hot tub outside the master bedroom was enjoyable too. We had beautiful views of the ocean from the 2 decks and of course the pool. We whale-watched everyday and were never disappointed. We can't wait to return because the villas are so elegant, comfortable, and met all our needs. We parked our rented mini-van in the carport for our villa, never had to wait for someone to retrieve our car. Each carport has the number of your villa so on it so the free parking is for your use during your stay, just outside your door. Food is great at all the properties as we chose to do all-inclusive for 3 days and could eat at all 4 properties. Wonderful breakfasts at the restaurant on site and we ate outside every morning.
December doesn't seem to be the best time to visit Cabo because the weather isn't good. (70s and overcast) The Villa, however, is wonderful. It's spacious and beautifully decorated. It is fully stocked with everything you need in the bathrooms and kitchen. It is very clean and the cleaning staff is there every day to keep it sparkling clean. A personal concierge is included with your stay and he is there for anything you might need. The personal infiniti pool is nice and warm and the hot tub was great to have as our very own. Gorgeous views! There were six in our party and plenty of room for all comfortably. We enjoyed our stay very much. It is a bit pricey for a round trip into town for dinner ($40 for 6). It's built on a very steep hill so don't plan on walking anywhere, but they have shuttles to take you to their sister resorts.
We truly enjoyed our time there. Staff was very helpful. Place was very clean. Views were incredible. The view from the private infinity pool was amazing. We had a personal concierge- Edgardo who had answers to anything we asked. Our villa was cleaned daily by Marta- she did an excellent job. The Rose sister hotel has an excellent beach with beachside drink and food service which our kids enjoyed (ages 23,20 and 16). Sky pool at Pueblo Bonita Resort, also accessible to Montecristo guests, was also a great place to hang out. We went fishing 2 days on the Rondinella- caught and released 7 marlin and 5 dorado- 2 which we kept for tacos that we grilled on the patio at the villa. We booked the Rondinella through a company called Salvador's Sport Fishing Charters. Excellent times! We had our best meal out at Pepe's downtown. At the resort, we had a nice non traditional Christmas eve dinner at their Chinese restaurant. Fun time for the kids to reconnect, thoroughly enjoyable.
We have a blast this was the best place that I have ever stayed and I have been all over the world. The service was all 5 star I can't say enough about how well kept this house was. We will be back every year going forward and we have to stay at this property. Mr. Childs you are God sent. Blessings to you and your family. Calista and Co.
We were at Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach Resort for our son's wedding. Robert Childs helped me with booking enough accomodations for 18 people in our party. We were upgraded to 2 Monte Cristo Villas by Yazmin, the front desk manager. She was so delightful and professional. I can't say enough about Robert Childs. He recommended a fabulous venue, Puerta Vieja, for the rehearsal dinner. The food was delicious, and the venue had a phenomenal view. Robert also gave us a list of other things to do in the area, as well as restaurant recommendations. We hired a driver (Alex Garcia) that was one of the most dependable and personable people I have ever met. The Monte Cristo Villas are breathtaking. The view is spectacular, and the amenities are awesome. The kitchen was fully equipped. We even grilled steaks out on the patio. It was so relaxing, and we didn't have to get out of our bathing suits for dinner. Everyone in our party had a very comfortable bed to sleep in, and more than enough bathrooms. Raul, our concierge, was so helpful and took care of all of our needs. Elizabeth, the maid, did a great job!! We loved having our own pool and hot tub. Even though we had the added stress and excitement of a wedding, we were very relaxed and comfortable. Our entire group wants to go back and stay at the Monte Cristo Villas again. I would ONLY book it through Robert Childs. He was so easy to contact and took care of EVERYTHING!! It was a great vacation/wedding experience for all of us. Thanks to Robert Childs and Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach Resort.
If you are planning a trip to Cabo, then this is a great option for accommodations. We have stayed in resorts and villas for years, but this was a unique blend of the two. The resorts are great for access to restaurants and amazing pools, but the rooms are small and privacy is just okay. Villa's are great for privacy and access to your own kitchen, but you are on your own for activities. The villa at Montecristo is spacious and the pool is great. The temperature in ours was upper 80's, so refreshing, but warm for morning swimming too. The view is awesome and it is easy to get lost in the view while in the pool, so use your sun block. We also spent time at the Sunset and Rose resorts for pool and beach cabana access, so the combination was awesome. Food at the resort restaurants was good, but the recommendations that Robert provided for places in town were spot on. Here are a couple of tips: 1. We rented a car for the week and didn't need it. $500 down the drain. One of the other guests gave a great suggestion. Avis has an office at the resort. He rented for one day (from the airport) for $25.00 and turned it is at Montecristo. He then rented again for the day on the trek back. Shuttle service is solid and taxi's are reasonable and fast. 2. Our concierge (Adrian), was amazing. He helped with setting up activities and reservations. He even got us into a restaurant that was full when we called. He was uncannily timely and super attentive. Make good use of your concierge and tip well. They deserve it! 3. We had some breezy nights and the villa is not built to be weather proof. The banging of the sliding glass doors in the first night woke me up, but then it was fine. 4. The kitchen is spacious and has good appliances, but there weren't many useful utensils. We made do, but I should have bought a knife at Wal-Mart. 5. For activities- the zip line tour with Cabo-Ventures as awesome. It includes rock climbing and repelling. the big zip-line is a mile long and you hit 60 mph. A must-do, but it takes all day. Thanks for the awesome stay Robert. We will be renting again!
My wife and I brought 2 couples to the Montecristo. Each couple stayed for 4 days of our 8 day stay. This trip was our 4th time staying at the Montecristo, and the 1st for each of our friends. The villas are truly amazing for a place to stay on a vacation. The villas are designed with a master bedroom on the 1st floor along with an amzing master bath with a huge walkin closet. Also on the main floor is a living room, dinning room with 6 chairs and a kitchen with 4 bar chairs. You have a 40 foot balcony with a hottub, table and 4 chairs, 2 lounge chairs, and an outdoor grill. The bottom floor has another master bedroom w/king bed, a 3rd bedroom w/ 2 queen beds, a living room, and a laundry room w/ washer/dryer/iron/ironing board. On this floor, you walk out the sliding glass doors onto another 40 foot patio with your own infinity pool (approx. 8-25ft), with 2 more lounge chairs and 4 very comfortable cushioned chairs. Truly, your own little paradise. The Montecristo has its own full gym with 3 treadmills, 3 ellipticals(Spelling ?), and 2 bikes, and plenty of weight machines and dumbells. Everything is working and spotless. They have a spa there that has a great steamroom. My wife went everyday and said nobody else was there. She enjoyed that. There is also a community pool with a bar/restaurant serving breakfast/lunch. Now for the fun part. Montecristo is part of the Bonita family of resorts in Cabo, and you have FREE access to them ALL. The Pacifica is located on the beach below MC and is an adult only resort which means a little quiet. You can you everthing there free, gym chairs, towels, etc. You can even charge your food and drink to your MC villa so nyou never have to carry cash. They also have the Sunset Beach resort lower down the hill from MC. Kid friendly with lots of pools. There are 2 more resorts on Mendano Beach downtown, the Blanco and the Rose which can be reached by using the free shuttle buses and you can charge everything there to your Villa. So much to do and so many places to relax, but there's nothing like coming back to your villa at the end of a day and take that last dip in your own infinity pool. Now, Mr Childs who we rented from is first rate. He took care of our rental and provided us with useful info on restaurants(some we hadn't been to yet like Romeo & Julieta) that was amazing. Everything was perfect from checkin to checkout. This resort really prides itself on getting things right. You will be amazed. Enjoy!
Robert's villa is a great value. For a very reasonable price you get beautiful views, a private pool and hot tub, 3 bedrooms, and very helpful concierge services. Having access to the pools and restaurants at sister resorts was a icing on the cake. Hope to make it back to Cabo next year and I will definitely be staying at Robert's villa again.
