This large house was perfect for my family members to gather for my daughter's 40th birthday. The view is stunning and the deck is large enough for a lot of people, with several levels. There are umbrellas and chairs aplenty. The kitchen is well equipped and there is plenty of room for people to sit together and enjoy a meal. I would recommend staying here for a large group of people.
Fabulous! We had a wonderful time in this lovely house.
Our family has had a tough go of it recently. We sought out a place where we could unwind in an inspirational setting. The Acorn fulfilled our hopes and more. Beautiful views, an amazing and impressive history, a clean and well-maintained house with fascinating architectural touches close to fun activities make this a real winner. To top it off, the Whistlers are responsive and wonderful hosts. Highly recommended.
Even with a fierce storm knocking out electricity for 36 hours, this was a wonderful place to hold a family celebration. It's living room is large enough to hold everyone and the dining table seats 10 easily, and both have great fireplaces! Kitchen is well furnished with all types of cookware and dishes. There are spaces where one can choose to be alone for a bit. Would love to go back when the weather would encourage being outdoors on the decks. Access to Point Lobos, Carmel, Pebble Beach and Monterey is easy. Only suggestion we would make is a new mattress in the guest cottage, otherwise great times were had by all!
My family and I had a wonderful stay at Acorn Ranch in celebration of my mom's 60th birthday. We enjoyed the incredible views from the back decks. For a truly relaxing vacation, the Acorn Ranch is marvelous choice. The house itself is very unique in structure and history, and the grounds and gardens are lovely. Thank you for a great stay. We already wish we were back!
We loved our stay at Acorn Ranch. We were a group traveling for the Big Sur Marathon and thoroughly enjoyed relaxing in this beautiful home with views of the ocean. The house is a quick drive into Carmel or to Monterey or a short walk to the lovely Point Lobos park. The kitchen was fully stocked allowing for lots of delicious meals in front of a roaring fire. Overall a perfect place for a group to stay! Would highly recommend.
Place is so relaxing. Love the huge kitchen and dining area with fireplace. There are so many places to sit and relax and watch the ocean inside and out we had an incredible time
The process was efficient, the owners were friendly, helpful and responsive and the experience even better than advertised! Book this property for a true bucket list experience.
The Acorn is a beautiful property. It is in an amazing location. Close to shopping, restaurants, state parks, and local activities, but far enough off the beaten path to feel “away from it all”. My family and I stayed at the Acron for a wedding that was down in Big Sur. It was a perfect location for the family to gather and enjoy the beautiful views from nearly every angle of the property. We enjoyed views of the pacific from the large decks, some local wild life ( deer, coyotes, Turkey, and the friendly horses), and beautiful sunsets ( fog permitting!!). The home was well equipped with everything you need from games and seating areas for the family, to spices and cooking utensils to make some delicious fish tacos from the Rock Cod that we had caught on a local fishing charter! There was more than enough room for the 7 adults and 4 children in our party. The only downfall was that we couldn’t stay longer! Again, the stay was absolutely perfect and we will be back to the Acorn without a doubt! Patrick and Sara were very accommodating and were very quick to respond to any questions we had regarding our stay. Could not have asked for a better experience!
Our family felt truly honored to be able to stay at this beautiful Acorn Ranch. It is a very special property and a perfect place for family to gather together. No one wanted to leave, so I guess we'll need to return! Loved it!
