Bright, Colorful, Cozy Home Close To Beach And Activities.

This a great house in a super location with nice restaurants,shopping, & golf nearby. Perfect location! It is a 2 block walk to the beach so bring a wagon to haul your gear. Jena was the perfect hostess & has thought of everything to have on hand in the house to make your stay comfortable. Loved the screened in porch! We will be back ?????

We had a great experience at MI-Retreat - the home was very well maintained, clean and had a great layout for adults/children to have their own space. We enjoyed the screend in porch with the connected deck. The kitchen was also fully stocked with utensils, cook ware, etc to make it easier to cook a meal w/o having to run back out for missing items. The house location was also very convenient to get to and from to the beach and walking distance to a great corner store/bakery. Would highly recommend!

The husband and the kids and I enjoyed a really laid back but fun getaway end of summer vacation at Jena’s place! Beautiful home, nicely decorated yet comfortable and plenty of space to relax and hangout. The house was fully stocked with everything we needed which was a very nice perk. We had a little bit of trouble getting the TV entertainment system to work so the kiddos could watch movies at night but then again it was nice not to have it afterall as we spent the time talking, doing puzzles and playing games in the evening instead. The beach was a short walk and was nice and secluded but be prepared to hike up and down some steps which can be somewhat tiresome if bringing a bunch of beach gear with you. There weren’t a ton of stores and restaurants in the actual town of Union Pier but the nearby towns made up for that just fine. We also enjoyed sightseeing and perusing nearby Lakeshore Drive and all the beautiful and unique vacation homes, cottages and historic inns that make up this special part of West Michigan. Will definitely come again!!

Once again this property did not disappoint. This was our second time at this cottage for a girls’ weekend. The cottage is very cozy and well decorated with wonderful art. The kitchen is very modern and opens into the family room and a dining table. I love the location, it’s a quick walk down to the beach and a corner coffee shop and a little grocery store. The house is a quick drive to new buffalo restaurants and shops. We always enjoy heading to Journeyman, in Three Oaks about 10 min drive, for the best Sunday Brunch. The owner goes out of her way to provide a relaxing and comfortable stay at her cottage. We will definitely return next year!

My family group stayed at this lovely property on Columbus Day weekend. The owner granted us early check-in and late check-out as there were no prior/subsequent reservations -- greatly appreciated. The home was comfortable and contemporary. Kitchen was well equipped and well stocked with condiments, etc. Especially appreciated was the generous counter space in the kitchen. Wood was in the fireplace, candles were on the back porch. Easy walking distance to the beach and to several nearby stores. Our 10 year old loved the lofted bedroom, and our little toddler had a great time, as well. (It was easy to block entry to the loft stairway with a cushion spanning the entry. ) Games and movies were available -- and great, detailed instructions on how to operate the technology. Space was available in closets and bathrooms. In the two downstairs bedrooms, one mattress was wonderful. The other was extremely hard -- would recommend the owner consider addressing that in the future. The shared back yard area was very serene and enjoyable. We discovered a bag game that we set up and used one evening - very nice set and a nice touch to make it available. If there were a way to incorporate a firepit somehow, that would be wonderful -- though we enjoyed the inside fireplace very much. Very enjoyable house, owner is easy to communicate with, no onerous rules / regulations. Big thumbs up.

Went for a lovely fall weekend. We all enjoyed the well kept cottage. Very clean and provided everything one may need for a weekend getaway. The location was very central a least 10-15 minutes away from popular locations. We will definitely be back! The host was very sweet and gracious. Thank you for a lovely anniversary getaway!!

We loved our girls weekend at Jena's MI Retreat! Equipped with all of the necessities. And the beds.... oh my word .... the bed was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. I need to know Jena's bed secret! Jena was a great communicator, made everything so easy and was super flexible. One of my best VRBO experiences ever. :) Thanks for a wonderful experience. Hope to book again for next year!

We are definitely planning to come back next year. Great location and the house has everything a family may need to be comfortable. The owner, Jena, was super accommodating and responsive - we felt like staying at friend’s house rather than a rental. In terms of location - it’s perfect: 1. Walking ( 5mins with a toddler) proximity to the beach one direction and a small grocery store/coffee shop/bakery the other direction. 2. Few mins driving distance to New Buffalo ( that has some good restaurants). Overall, we very much enjoyed everything and felt grateful.

This house was a wonderful place to stay!! Soft beds and fluffy towels, everything you could ever want is there! Just bring your bathing suit and toothbrush. Artwork made it so aesthetically pretty!! Only 2 blocks to beach (and 50 steps to go down, but whatever...). My favorite thing was the screened in porch. With cool night temps, it was a favorite place to sit with a glass of wine and listen to night noises, watch lightning bugs... Perfect for families. 2 bedroom, 2 bath, with two twin beds in the loft upstairs. Take a nap in the easy chair upstairs! Loved it and would definitely come back. Easy access to restaurants and other things to do.
