The description of this vacation home is not overstated. It is indeed a fabulous property for a family get away on the Cape. It is located in a quiet residential area, yet only minutes from beautiful Bay side beaches and the National Seashore Park. The studio apartment provides a spacious oasis for grandparents while the younger ones in the family can enjoy the many play and entertainment places on the ground floor of the home. The 5 bedrooms in the main house are airy and spacious and can easily accomodate 10+. The common eating and gathering areas and spacious prep friendly kitchen easily handle a large gathering. A highlight of the property is the expansive deck, which stretches the entire width of the back of the home and overlooks a large and well maintained backyard, with kid friendly play areas and swing set. What also sets this home apart from many other rental properties is its well stocked amenities, including countless quality bed linens, bath towels, beach towels and chairs, and a kitchen loaded with everything that one would need to put together a gourmet meal for a large gathering. What also made our experience so special was the owner. We found Liz to be a delightful person, who was not only helpful, but genuinely caring in wanting to meet our needs and make our vacation experience a memorable one. We would not hesitate to recommend this property to a friend or family looking for the ideal vacation get-away for a large family gathering, especially with many little children. It is truly a pleasure to write this review.
Our family gathered here last July for a week to celebrate my birthday. We love the Cape and have spent many summers there. So, we were all delighted by the perfect setting, the spacious accommodation and the well planned and supplied kitchen, where everyone could take a turn as chef of the day. The location of your home close to Cape Cod Bay and walking distance to a Fresh Water Pond beach, was perfect; as were the bikes, the basketball and badminton courts which kept everyone amused and active. Every evening we all gathered on the deck for cocktails and conversation. Sounds perfect, and it was. Thank you very much for making your home available to us.
Stayed in this house for a week in August 2014. The description does not do it justice. My extended family all stayed here and the house was plenty large enough for all of us-there was 8 adults, 3 20+ year olds and a baby. What terrific set-up for the baby-put them in the studio and baby could sleep while we enjoyed the beautiful deck and yard and all the lawn toys. The kitchen is truly amazing, nothing but the finest china, cookware and glass ware-all pampered chef. We were able to prepare large meals for all of us with plenty of room for cooking and seating. We also were able to all sit and eat on the deck and utilize the grill. The included linens were as good if not better than any fine motel. A truly memorable family vacation, I only hope we can do it again.
This is an amazing house. The house, the yard, the deck, the location, everything about is was top rate. We had a family reunion/vacation here the last week in June. Lots of adults and kids, and plenty of room for all. Every night fresh fish on the Barbie from the local market, and relaxing on the deck, which held and fed all of us with plenty of room. One complaint about the kitchen: it is overstocked! Never have had that "problem" before. Anything you need for food prep is there, with a gourmet kitchen to set the stage. The house itself had plenty of space, no one was in each other's way. The yard is great. We had whiffle ball games, badminton , and croquet. We also put on near 100 miles on our bikes. Not hard to do since the bike trail is right at the end of the road. It is a short bike to beaches, fish markets, and into Orleans for any shopping, ice cream, etc. The house is extremely well located, central to all of our favorite Cape haunts, and with the bike trail so near by, rarely needed to get in to the car. We have rented many times on the cape, this property has to rank as the top for us, and we hope to return. Thanks Liz for a great week, it just couldn't have been better.
This property was ideal for a multi-generational family as it allowed us (Grandparents) to escape to the spacious studio apartment. We all enjoyed the large deck and with co-operating weather dined outside most of the time. The grounds are kid friendly and the property is well set back from the street and is located on a dead-end (circle) that backs up to the central Cape Cod bike trail. It is also close to one of the best family beaches on Cape Cod. Nearby amenities such as supermarkets and fish markets are easily accessible. Finally, we rebooked for next year. What more can I say than that?
The house was perfect for our needs with six beds. The studio apt was a plus and the roomy outdoor shower much appreciated. The table provided the most seating that we have had in 11 years vacationing on the Cape allowing us all to share meals at one table. The central location close to the beaches, markets and downtown Orleans made this house an ideal place to stay. We are planning to return in 2017
My family and I loved this beautiful home in Easton.....we have been vacationing on the Cape for many, many years and this large, comfortable home was perfect for all of us......we loved the large patio with table seating for 12 and lovely backyard......home is very, very clean and perfect location for all the beaches, restaurants, and fun activities that we all enjoy.....we will definitely be back.....nancy g.
I had started planning a special family get-together last fall and I was looking for a home that would accommodate our large, extended family coming to the Cape from all over the country - California, Kansas, Pittsburgh and North Carolina - with children as young as 2, and grandparents/great-grandparents well into our 70's, and lots of young adults. After spotting this house on the VR website, I immediately contacted the owner with a few questions , and booked it for 2 weeks this past [2017] August . It proved perfect for all of us! The 30-somethings found the casual lounging on the deck and in the game rooms downstairs just the place for chatting into the night over favorite beverages; while the 2 year olds loved the playground equipment, beaches and beach toys, and all the space to run around. For our family chef, the kitchen was fully equipped with all the utensils we needed; and for those of us who just wanted to enjoy the Cape air and the beach, we had it all! The location provides easy access by car (or bike) to a wonderful bay beach, the spectacular National Seashore and old Nauset beaches, and several ponds, not to mention a nearby supermarket and assortment of restaurants and specialty shops. Over my 2 week rental, I had a total of 22 different family members visit (at different, but overlapping times) and the variety of sleeping arrangements, including the lovely studio apartment, allowed us to accommodate everyone. Finally and perhaps most important, our hostess, Liz, was gracious and available when I had to contact her with a question or issue - and even came over to the house once when we blew a fuse and couldn't find the circuit-breaker.
This house is lovely, inviting, and exceedingly well equipped in a quiet, beautiful residential neighborhood. The house has 5 bedrooms plus a terrific separate studio apartment and a couple of pull out couches. We all enjoyed our stay and would love to rent it again in future. I would highly recommend this property to anyone interested in a terrific place to stay in the Lower Cape.
