We love Echo Lake Lodge! Our family, ranging in age from 5 to 89, all had a wonderful week. We enjoyed swimming and playing in the sand at the private beach. We had fun using the kayak, canoe, rowboat, pontoon and the new raft. One of our grandson's caught his first fish ever, a good sized bass! The kids loved the bunk room. The trails were great for hiking and running. The large, well equipped kitchen made meal prep fun and easy. We all enjoyed ending our day around a campfire at the fire pit. There really is something for everyone! Our biggest dilemma was feeling the draw of all the attractions in the area but not wanting to leave the compound. We are looking forward to next year!
We had our wedding at the Lodge and were so happy with our decision. We wanted a location that would offer us privacy, outdoor scenery, and the opportunity to make our day our own-and we got all that and more at Echo Lake. We had about 130 guests attend and brought in all needed supplies from several vendors and had no problems getting any of it set up. Several family and friends arrived a couple days before hand to spend time with us before the big day and were able to stay on site with us at the Lodge. The amenities at the Lodge made it very easy for everyone to feel comfortable and have plenty of space. We were very happy with the outcome! Can't wait to go back and spend time remembering and celebrating our wedding again!
This was our 4th consecutive year of staying at the Echo Lake Lodge. We are a group of 16 golfers. We rent both the Lodge and the Chalet. First, the property is absolutely gorgeous. We enjoy the huge dock on the private lake, camp fires, and all the games available (bocce ball, etc.). The Lodge is so peaceful and you can be as loud as you want without worrying about disrupting any neighbors. The Chalet has an amazing view looking out over the water and we began renting this to accommodate a larger group of guys. The Lodge is PERFECT for large groups, large families, friends, etc. It has a huge kitchen that allows ample space for cooking. We always cook dinners at the Lodge on our trip and the Kitchen works great for us. There are 2 large living/family room spaces both with windows looking out over the lake, a nice sized table and a screened in porch with an additional table. I would say the only negative about the Echo Lake Lodge is that cell phone service is spotty at best with most carriers ( I think AT&T works just fine)... but that is hardly a concern since we come here to get away from all that. I would HIGHLY recommend the Echo Lake Lodge, and was very surprised to see a negative review on here. We've stayed here for 4 years and the Lodge has always been clean. The owner recently (from last year) invested in some new furniture and made some nice upgrades to the property. There's 2 nice grills and a paved area for grilling out. We've used the swimming dock, paddle boards and canoe/kayaks (there's also a pontoon boat for rent). We will definitely be back to the Lodge. Great location, convenient to I-75 to get to golf courses, and just a beautiful property. Martin, the owner is great to deal with. He's very prompt in his responses and easy to work with. The cleaning crew/property managers are great to work with as well. We've only had to contact them once. This past year we didn't have enough propane, and they came right out with a new tank. I'd recommend this property for Large groups.
Wonderful place to bring our family together. We have gone two years in a row and my family loves it. They have thought of everything to make a family stay great.
Marty the owner is great to work he works hard to accommodate your needs. Rick and Rhonda the care takers are super nice and also very accommodating. We had a men’s retreat at the property, we rented the Lodge and the Chalet. The properties have tons of space and something for everyone to do. Place was very clean and had everything we needed to have an enjoyable weekend!!! We will be back again!!!
We have rented the lodge for a second time, both times during the winter break. The place has everything you can ask for: beautiful peaceful location, nice updated spacious cabin and just 15 minutes drive to Boyne Mountain. Also, if you are an off road vehicle enthusiast there are ATV/snow mobile trails very close. My kids really love this place! We go skiing/tubing at Boyne, ride the snow mobile and enjoy a walk in the woods surrounding this cabin where there's lots of dears. Marty is great to work with and he promptly accommodated all our requests. I highly recommend the Echo Lodge and definitely we will go back!!!
We held a family reunion here last week - ages from 1 to 66. It was absolutely perfect. The setting is tranquil, so peaceful and private. You will be the only ones on the lake - which results in very calm, glass like water. It's perfect for using the stand up paddleboard and kayak. We didn't end up using the pontoon boat much because we enjoyed the other boats so very much. It's a great location - short drive to Mackinac, Petoskey and Charlevoix. Many of our group took day trips for bike rides etc, but I personally found it easier and more pleasant to stay on the property with our toddlers. It's perfect for toddlers with a sandy beach and gradual/slow decline into the water. All of the provided games are amazing - we had a gigantic game tournament throughout the week. Finally, the house set up/bed arrangement worked perfectly for us. It's especially nice that the house is one level and has a walk in shower with hand held spray. My mom has MS so it was nice that it's fairly accessible with one step down to the grass from the house. It was easy to traverse with her walker. I definitely want to return - with family or friends :)
This. Was our second year. It still was the best. Everyone (15) to the person wants to come back. Kayak, 2 row boats , paddle board, canoe party floats and a pontoon boat all got used frequently. Shuffle board and bocce courts gave rise to great competition. My grandchildren loved fishing. Oscar caught 50 pan fish in two days( all released). Some large bass eluded the older of us. For me (grandpa) a great memory of smiles. The family all wants to come back in2019.
We enjoyed this house very much because of no neighbors, lakeside, in the middle of nature, many bedrooms with bath. Clean inside and a lot of entertainment. Could spend more than a week.
Our group has stayed at the lodge for 5 years. It is perfect for our large group family golf weekend. The large gourmet kitchen allows for preparing meals for a large group. The setting is beautiful with the large deck overlooking the private lake and the privacy is great but the property is only 10 minutes from I-75. The lodge offers multiple sleeping arrangements and the lodge is close to numerous golf courses. We definitely will be back again.
Seriously. ABSOLUTELY MAGICAL !!! You could write 2 or 3 Hallmark Channel movies about our stay. It is PERFECT !!! Was there to celebrate our parents' 50th Wedding Anniversary. Their four boys. All our families. Everyone had their own space. Great Room / Hearth is a great for bonding and fires. TV Room in back allowed the boys to escape for football and the kids for cartoons. Immaculate. Management was FANTASTIC. Gaylord had everything we needed. Quaint restaurants, shopping and places to stock up so that we wouldn't have to leave unless we wanted. Our second time here -- will keep coming back for years to come! Thank you so much !!!
