About the Property

This cabin was built by the owners and opened July, 2013. Much of the wood in the cabin came from the pine and aspen trees on our own land. All of the boards on the outside of the cabin were cut from Mountain Pine Beetle infested trees on our land. The loft ladder and railing we peeled from our trees. The bathroom vanity and medicine cabinet we built from aspen. The deck has a covered roof on it with lounge chairs and a grill. We have built a fire pit with benches next to the cabin for quests to enjoy and relax beside. We have plenty of fire wood for it on site. We own 23 acres that is surrounded by National Forest Service Land. There is a creek running thru our land with a pond in it just below the cabin. The Norbeck Wildlife Refuge is just 100 yards from our property. We are approximately 3 miles from Custer State Park. You have a bird's eye view of the Needles from our drive way. We are located in the heart of the Southern Black Hill offering a wonderful base to explore all the Hills have to offer, but is also a perfect getaway for those searching for some peace and tranquility. There are many forest trails near the cabin that you can hike, bike, or ride horse on for all the exploration a heart could desire. Consumables are provided. We are NOT charging a cleaning fee although we hope all will leave the cabin as clean as you found it in hopes of preventing this fee. You pay one half of your stay when you reserve the cabin with the balance due 30 days prior to arrival. If you need assistance making a reservation with us please feel free to call me at 605-517-1796 Cancellation Policy: Re-scheduling your stay is always permissible without loss of deposit monies. Cancellations made 31 or more days prior to arrival will receive a refund of the deposit LESS $50.00 or 10% of the reservation whichever is more. If cancelled within 30 days of arrival the initial deposit will be forfeited. Partial deposit may be refunded if the property is re-rented. There will be NO refunds for no-shows, late arrivals, or early departures. We'd love to have you stay with us! |

Payment Policies
| We are not charging a cleaning fee in hopes tenants will take good care of the cabin and leave it as clean as it was when they moved into the cabin. I have supplied a vaccum cleaner, and a variety of cleaning supplies for them to clean the cabin with before they leave. We charge $125.00 per night all year long. We close the cabin for Dec., Jan., and Feb. |

This was the most beautiful well maintained property we have ever stayed on. Everything we needed was there. If we hadn't already made plans to go to see some sites, we would have been perfectly fine sitting at the firepit and just watching the deer every evening . It is so quiet except for the water running from the little creek opposite the pond. The owners, Deb and Dave, are stellar hosts and very helpful with any questions you have about the area We definitely recommend staying at this gorgeous cabin if you are in the area; I know we will!
We loved the cottage! It was about 10 minutes out of town and had everything we needed. We didn't get to meet Deb in person, but I spoke to her on the phone and she answered all of my questions. Would highly recommend and definitely stay again if we are in the area.
Cabin was exactly as described. Very remote but perfect for a family vacation. Very few distractions for time well spent with family. Beautiful location with nice view of the needles from front porch. Located close to Custer, a very welcoming town.
This property is definitely secluded. The road getting there was pretty rough, but the scenery was beautiful! I appreciate Deb letting us know they’d be gone during our stay. The cabin is cozy but met our needs. We enjoyed our stay
What a wonderful place to stay for our first vacation with the kids! Our daily visits from Molly were the highlight for my youngest. This cabin is perfectly located to all the area attractions and was a nice quiet place to come relax after busy days sight seeing!! Thank you again for the wonderful experience!

We had an amazing time! The cabin was exactly what we expected and had all the accommodations we needed. The locations was great, we were close enough to all our actives and was nice to come back to the cabin to relax after a fun filled day! Quiet wild life every evening
A perfect little get away cabin off the beaten path. This place was perfect for us on our 4 day vacation to South Dakota. It was close to town or to visit Custer state park or the Black hills. It was so peaceful and relaxing to be out in nature and away from the noise of the city. Dave and Deb were incredible hosts and made sure the place was spotless and we had everything we needed. If we ever venture to Custer again we will be sure to book again!
Deb and Dave were very helpful. Perfect place for making family memories. We are first time users of this type of booking process and it was an overall great experience. The cabin was fantastic!!
Very nice place to stay proximate to Custer State Park. Custer City, with all the amenities was a few minutes away. We had brought our springer Millie, who spent much of the time playing with Mollie, the bull dog. There were deer in the yard in the morning and at night. The pond attracted a heron, and a pair of kingfishers. The owners were very helpful and accommodating.
