Great Fishing, Swimming, & Relaxing: Enjoy spectacular sunrises over Big Chetac Lake and then relax with a cold one to enjoy the sunset over a small private lake. The deck has a built in fire pit and gazebo to enjoy outdoor living to the fullest and the view can't be beat! The master bedroom has its own private deck with views of both lakes. The heavily wooded lot is 2.9 acres and there is tons of room to explore. Fish Big Chetac or enjoy the peacefulness and beauty of the small lake behind the house. Great fishing on Big Chetac over 2000 acres to explore! Interior has the Up North Feeling with pine tongue and groove siding. The kitchen has a dishwasher and a extra large farm sink. The bathrooms have ceramic tile throughout. The basement has a 3rd bathroom and lots of fun activities. Big Chetec is a great lake for recreation and fishing with over 2,000 acres of 'boatable' water to explore. There are multiple places on the lake to rent fishing boats or pontoons so that you can enjoy the sand bar on the lake as well as a couple of islands to explore and potentially camp on. The property has 700ft of wooded lake shore with a dock for your boat and for swimming. You will need to cross the road to get to the Big Chetec Lake front but it will be worth it! This is a great place to come any time of year with nearby attractions in Birchwood, Hayward, Spooner, and Rice Lake. The cabin is surrounded by many ATV/Snowmobile trails to enjoy and you will love exploring the wooded lot. If you prefer to stay at home you can enjoy a Foosball, ping pong, and air hockey in the basement. You can also choose to snuggle up with a good book on either of the decks or in the cozy living room. |

Thank you for sharing this amazing place. We were able to snowshoe and explore out in the winter fun. The table and board games were great. We couldn’t get all the way up the driveway- but we’re duly warned in the house instructions that 4wd is advised in winter. That being said it was no big deal- we just parked at the end of the driveway and walked up the short distance(40 yards) to the house. Great place for Birkie Weekend!
Jon has a very nice place. The cabin is roomy and very warm. Our plan is to book it again for next year. I very much appreciated Jon calling me to update me on a few issues. I would highly recommend this rental to anyone. Thank you very much.
Great place, difficult if you have large trailers.
Our annual fishing trip to Northern Wisconsin. Cabin was great, enough to sleep our group of 10. Fishing and weather was great.
This was our second time coming. Place was great, weather was good and bugs weren’t much of an issue. If you go hiking make sure to wear tick spray and check as the wood ticks were bad. Other than that fun times all around. Thanks again for the rental!
We just returned from a 6 night stay at Jon's property. It was a wonderful time with our adult children and grand-daughter and a great place for us to stay. The deck overlooking the woods and smaller lake was the best! It was our favorite part of each day to enjoy the firepit. The kids also enjoyed the ping pong and air hockey in the lower level. Fishing for crappies for fun on the back lake was also super fun for the kids. Thanks Jon and Abby!
We enjoyed this place so much last summer, we decided to come back this summer. We really enjoyed fishing and canoeing in the back lake. The lilypad was a lot of fun too. The new master bedroom deck was a nice place to sit and read. The kids loved the game room. And the fire pit was a great place to unwind in the evening. As with any place in the woods near water, be prepared for mosquitoes and biting flies!
The mosquitoes were bad; otherwise everything was perfect. Would highly recommend.
What a place! Thank you, Jon, for letting us stay here. Our family(2 adults and 2 kids), had such a great time! We spent everyday on the big lake kayaking, canoeing, and doing cannonballs off the dock. The kids really enjoyed the paddle boats. The water felt great on the warmer days. It wasn't as cold as we were expecting it to be. The water was a bit murky, but we still had fun diving down to find shells. We didn't spend much time on the back lake, as it was a bit of a hike. But it was very peaceful and beautiful! I spent most early mornings fishing off the dock while watching the eagles and loons. The cabin is great! The rooms were spacious and the beds were excellent! In fact, we are considering buying the same one for our place. We really loved our family time outside on the deck telling stories and making smores. What a way to end a day! The sunsets were amazing and the stars. We forget sometimes just how many there really are. The kids spent most of their indoor time playing air hockey and foosball. It was great entertainment for them, while the parents prepared meals. We regret not exploring more of the area, but we just enjoyed being on the lake and around the cabin so much. In fact, not once did we hear the words, "I'm bored". Jon is a great owner, and was quick to respond to any questions that we had. He alerted us to some issues that were present before we arrived. If you're looking for a peaceful North Woods retreat, you'll find it here! We would come back tomorrow! (except it was already booked!)
This was a family group with parents children and grandchildren. The two lakes are beautiful. The house is well equipped. There is plenty to do on rainy days. We played games and the grandchildren loved the lower level game area. To stay here you must be able to climb stairs and walk the distance to the lakes. It was great for our family.
