About the Property
Deer Haven Guest Cottage consists of two bedrooms, the master suite has a queen size bed and a walk out patio, the guest bedroom has a queen size bed, one bathroom and a fully stocked kitchen/dining room with a living room and dish network. It is approximately 1300 sq ft. A roll a way bed is also available. The cottages are surrounded by gardens, a shrine and a reflecting pond. Grizzly Rose Guest Cottage consists of two bedrooms with sitting areas. One bedroom has a queen size bed and a twin pull out bed, the other bedroom has a queen size bed. Each bedroom has dish network/DVD. There are two bathrooms and a fully stocked kitchen/dining area with a walkout veranda. Grizzly Rose guest cottage does not have a formal living room. It is approximately 800 Sq ft. Open WiFi on the property. The Studio Apartment aka Bears Den is located in the main house and consists of a convenience kitchen/living area, queen size bed, one bathroom and sauna. It has its own private entrance. The property is surrounded by gardens, numerous ponds and places to relax. There are two medicine wheels for the enjoyment of the guests and a ceremonial Ti Pi. There is hiking and walking on the property. |

It was obvious that Michelle went out of her way to make her guests feel comfortable. She brought us some bread and jam and gave us great advice for places to go. She was a great host!
We had an amazing stay at Deer Haven. Pictures do not do justice for the space. There is plenty of room and I felt right at home. Michelle met us as we pulled in and showed us around, she told us some of the best places to visit and she has so much to offer to those who stay. The home is meticulously clean and well decorated. The kitchen is well stocked. If I get the chance to travel this way again I will stay here again. This is centrally located to Durrango, *(about 30 minutes away) four corners, Meas Verde and Hovensweep and just far enough away from all the noise of a city to relax. I could not be more delighted with this choice to stay here.
This cabin was adorable! The backyard was so serene, and inside was very clean and nice. Everything was stocked down to hot chocolate and q-tips. Highly recommended by me!
Very clean, fully equipped, beautiful landscaping, nicely decorated and a very accommodating host. A beautiful pond and waterfalls in the backyard. The cottage is newly constructed and very roomy. We felt at home. Only minutes from Cortez and a very quiet location. We will definitely stay again for our annual visit to Cortez. The only recommendation is to improve the lighting or signage at the entrance as it’s a bit tricky to find in the dark. Deer Haven Guest Cottage is worthy of more than 5-stars.
Michelle was very accommodating on all levels. She met us as we arrived late, showed us around and was very helpful. We stayed there to visit Mesa Verde. It turns out Michelle is one of the few Pueblo native Americans and her insight and discussions were invaluable and very helpful. You're stay on any of her homes or studio apartment will be excellent - you won't find a more sincere, caring hostess. Thanks, Charlie
The owner, Michelle, and her property is top rated and highly recommended if you are looking for a magical adventure! Away from it all, yet close enough to use as a base camp. Can't wait to go back!
We enjoyed staying in the two bedroom, one bath cottage, it was quiet but yet fun for our 9 year old. A little for all of us!
This property was our home base while we visited the local national park and monuments. It was a great space for our family of 5. The owner was lovely and the property was well cared for. I enjoyed reading on the patio next to the garden and stream fountain in our down time. My husband enjoyed world cup.
The place was just as advertised it was clean and nice and Michelle couldn't have been a better hostess we will definitely come back
