About the Property
As you drive down our wooded lane you leave behind your hectic daily life and enter your own private refuge. The Main House has 4 BRs and 3.5 baths. The main floor has open floor plan w/ a gourmet kitchen, a 6-seat island, dining room table for 10, and a naturally lighted sitting room with an old fashioned wood stove. The main floor MBR contains a king bed, private bath w/large two head shower, and a private balcony. Off the dining area is another balcony and a covered/screened-in porch. The kitchen has a stove and gas grill with all the utensils needed to prepare a feast for family and friends. The lower level offers 3 spacious BRs w/ queen beds w/built-in bookcases, 2 full baths and walk out access to a large backyard. The centrally located media room contains a large TV and lots of comfortable seating. The Coach House has 2 queen sized BRs and 1 full bath. A game area with pool, foosball, poker, and air hockey tables. Also a video seating area. A brick walkway leads to a private pond, deck/pier w/arbor, hot tub and lots of outdoor furniture to enjoy the relaxing atmosphere. Renters of Galena Territory homes have access to a Marina(to fish or rent boats, tennis courts), Owner's Club(fitness room, basketball court, new indoor/outdoor pool), Golf Courses(63-holes & driving range), Winter Sports(ice skating, sledding, cross country skiing), Shennadoah Riding Center(trail rides & lessons). Historic Galena, a 15-min. drive, offers a return to the 1850's with museums, restored Main Street containing antique/boutique shops, restaurants and nightly entertainment. Dubuque, Iowa, a 30-min. drive, offers river boat rides on the Mississippi River, an Aquarium, Indoor water park, Two Casinos and a Dog Racing Track. |

We had a group on 8 people and we had a wonderful stay. Everything was perfect. Accommodations were excellent. Kitchen was great for cooking meals (baking dishes, pizza pan, utensils, etc. We would definitely book again.

Great house. We stayed with 5 other couples. Plenty of room to gather and relax. Close to downtown Galena.
The property was great! Bugs are bad, though, so I would suggest looking into fogging.
At the end of the road, surrounded by green nature, totally secluded, dead end of Galena Territory. The house big and has very unique and unique decorations, wooden table, chairs, original fireplace. Everybody in my group liked its atmosphere. Bedroom furniture is oldish but bedrooms are clean with no dust. Shining bathrooms.
We had a wonderful weekend in the Galena Territory. The house comfortably slept all 11 of the guests for the entire weekend and we will most certainly look to stay again if we find ourselves back in Galena, IL. We also took advantage of the access to the basketball courts and pontoon rentals and both experiences were great. I highly recommend David's home -- especially if you are looking for a tranquil experience.
Perfect property for our large group, did have some noise as there is outside road construction going on, but due to muggy weather we spent our time inside.

We had a wonderful family weekend at this property. The house and adjoining coach house were spacious, comfortable, clean, and well-stocked with meal prep items. We found games to play and enjoyed socializing on the screen porch despite the rainy weather. We definitely would choose to stay again!
We celebrated Christmas with our families. The priest was very large and easily accommodated 15 people. The carriage house was great and we all had fun playing pool and air hockey. The hot tub was a nice way to end the day. We went to the owners club several times to work out, shoot hoops and plat games. David was super easy to work with and made us all feel at home. I look forward to a future stay!!!
