Where to begin, so many wonderful thoughts go through my mind when I think of our stay at Smoky Sunrise. It is true that Smoky Sunrise offered us the most wonderful view of the mountains and Maggie Valley and sights even beyond. The house/cabin was more than adequate. Everything and I mean everything one could need or want was provided. Nothing was overlooked. The house was clean and everything worked fine. The only misgiving was that we could not get the fireplace to work, despite my knowledge of gas fireplaces. This one challenged me. The drive up the mountain to Smoky Sunrise was and is a challenge but extremely doable. Driving up slowly with a AWD or 4WD it's a snap. driving down keep your speed in check and lightly use the brakes. Getting in the driveway was the biggest challenge but I charged into it from a short distance and got over the hump. The house was always comfortable. Air Conditioning beat the heat and warm comforters on the comfortable bed kept the evening chill in check. Sitting in the hot tub looking at the magnificent stars was a memory not long forgotten. If your reading this and are interested in staying at Smoky Sunrise I can assure you that you will not be disappointed. It was an experience we will not long forget.
If you want a true mountain experience Smoky Sunrise Cabin is a must We vacation in the Maggie Valley area just about every year and use VRBO as our tool to find great cabins The views from the cabin desk are beautiful Booking with the owner was easy and communicating with her was no problem Signe thank you for the use of your cabin and we will be contacting you again!! Thank you Don W.
My wife and I have been coming to Smoky Sunrise for some years now and just love it. The view of the sunrise is spectacular as is the overall view of the valley. Being one of two highest houses on the mountain means that we enjoy quiet and privacy on the spacious deck. The list of wonderful things about the house goes on and on.
The challenging winter drive was worth the it! Cozy accommodations, well stocked, and comfortable linens! Loved sitting by fire admiring the beauty of the Smokey mountain tops. Would rent again in a heartbeat! Great communication w/ the owner!
Spot on as shown. The cabin is clean and well stocked from kitchen, to books and games. The road up to the cabin was an adventure we thoroughly enjoyed. We highly recommend Smoky Mountain Sunrise. Thank you Signe.
The view is beyond amazing! The drive to the cabin was a little bumpy due to recent and continuing rains - but definitely manageable. It was very quiet and secluded feeling. The property manager was extremely communicative and very helpful with info. The cabin was very homey and had updated appliances. Overall, a great find!
We had such a lovely stay at Smokey Sunrise. Everything was spotlessly clean; I had a fantastic time cooking in the well-equipped kitchen; the bed in the master bedroom was incredibly comfortable; we enjoyed the games and jigsaw puzzles; the hot tub was oh so relaxing; and last but certainly not least...that view!! I couldn't get over it. It was like magic looking out at the cloud covered valley and the majestic mountains every morning. The view literally took my breath away. As others have mentioned, the drive up to Smokey Sunrise is "exciting" to say the least, but once you are there, you never want to leave so it's not a big deal!
Great location! Fun but slightly bumpy access road! Beautiful view! Great to be so high in elevation: low temps even when hot in Maggie Valley. Saw two large bull Elk on our drive out!
The cabin was awesome for our family. The kids enjoyed the basement playroom, hot tub and the fire pit area. The adults enjoyed the sunrises and smokey mountain views. Twice on trips to Cherokee we were lucky enough to see elk and get great pictures of them. Overall a great family vacation.
The cabin was very clean, comfortable and cozy. Great attention to detail with nice touches. Although Signe suggested the longer route to the cabin due to road conditions we excepted the challenge for the shorter one mile options and it was an adventure each time but also exciting. In addition to the great amenities, the cabin is in great proximity to a variety of activities. Did some hiking around the property, visited the Smokies, saw some Elk (a few right down to road from the cabin), did some shopping and had an overall great time. And being early riser, the sunrises were absolutely brilliant. Took a number of great pictures. Signe was great to work with and as mentioned above even emailed us the day right before out trip about the road conditions. Would highly recommend this cabin. Dawn and Dennis
