Cuba Lake is a family friendly, serene lake that provides numerous opportunities for enjoyment year round. This North Shore locale boasts spectacular sunsets and a sweeping view of the lake from the indoors and the lanai, lakeside patio and deck. Rooms are spacious and the majority provide fantastic views of the lake.
The main level (at street level), has wrap around windows and lanai with an inviting open floor plan incorporating the living room, kitchen and dining room which is splendid for entertaining. The lower level, first floor at lake level, has an additional galley style kitchen, washer and dryer, 1/2 bath, billiards and beautiful Walnut bar. The lower level opens onto the lake front patio which connects with the dock and shoreline. The spaciousness of the rooms and multilevel design easily accommodates large families or friendly gatherings.
The house has its own private dock which accommodates several boats and is wide enough to easily fit two lounges for sunbathing. There are two kayaks for your enjoyment and a motor boat available for an additional rate.
The fall foliage in Cuba and the surrounding area is breathtaking, with the lake itself providing a spectacular foil to the jeweled tones of the leaves.
Winter activities abound with easy access to both cross country skiing and snowmobile trails. Holiday Valley Ski Resort and Ellicottville are only 37 minutes away. Cuba Lake also offers excellent ice fishing.

I stayed at this lake house with six of my closest friends. There was plenty of sleeping room for all. Even with the spacious nature of the house, it still maintains a cozy feel as well. It feels as if all your cares just melt away when you can sit in the livingroom or on the deck with a cup of hot cocoa and soak in the peaceful views of the lake. Once you are done taking it all in as a passive participant, you can get off the couch and do so much! If you're into running, biking, fishing, skiing, snowboarding, even eatting (Moonwinks is an AWESOME restaurant/bar and just walking distance away), this location provides all of that for you. I recomend this house to anyone who is interested in a relaxing week away from the hustle and the busle of every day life. I can't wait to go back!
I have stayed at this cottage a number of times. It is amazing! The view from the upper deck is spectacular and the lower deck leads right out to the lake. Last summer my husband, daughter and I stayed at the cottage for a few days with four other couples and a ton of kids. My had more than enough room and the kids all had a blast. I highly recommend it!
You've done a wonderful job with renovations and decorating! The cottage is a gem and I look forward to future visits. I can't think of a nicer getaway for a Fall excursion, a ski vacation, Summer lake fun, or just to gather with family and friends. You have found a cottage nestled in a beautiful region of upstate NY. Thanks for sharing!
This was the first experience any of us had had renting on line. We could not have been more pleased. John was very quick to answer our questions prior to our arrival and while we were there. Our two families of 4 adults and 5 children had plenty of room to hang out. The property was very clean and well stocked!! The linens were plenty and considering how cold it was we did not worry about not having enough blankets. The games room was a great place to hang out on a cold winter night. We played pool, darts, watched TV and had a fun family get together. The locals were very friendly and we had a most enjoyable diner at Murdochs. We are considering making this our first annual and would recommend the property to anyone. I would love to visit in the summer to take advantage of the water and all the sports. Thank you John. I have had the opportunity to stay at this lake house on several occasions. It is very nice, clean and user friendly. The second kitchen located on the bottom floor makes it so easy to enjoy the beautiful lakeside dock, yard and porch. With a grill and hot tub on the lake side porch, a bar area right inside the door and a pool table, it is perfect for families or an adult getaway. There is enough lake side yard to play games with the kids and enough shallow lake front to do the same in the water. The bedrooms are spacious, there is an upstairs sitting area, art from local artists, views of the lake from the top deck (covered), dining and living room area. The kitchen on the main floor is open to bar seating and the dining room. It is perfect for large dinners. The kitchen is well stocked and with TWO refrigerators in the cottage, there is ample space for food and drink. More amazing is that this cottage (it really should be called a house, cottage does not do it justice) is that is has a two car garage attached. Why is this amazing? You can unload cars (great when raining), keep recycling handy, keep coolers close to the kitchen, storage and most of all make it easy to pack up when it is time to leave. I do not come from means, when i was younger I spent two weeks every summer at a cottage (not a house). I loved it, this place is a cottage on steroids. I should also mention that the owner is pleasant and easy to work with. Last, i read the poor review. It seemed that things just seemed to just go wrong and i can understand the frustration when that happens but it is not a accurate reflection of the owner and lake house.
We had a wonderful weekend. The cottage is nicely furnished and fully equipped. The swim area is great for kids of all ages. The cottage is large enough for all 8 of us to gather together and also areas to get off by yourself it you wanted. We would love to come back sometime. John was very helpful.
This was our second visit to Cuba Lake and our first time staying at this cottage. There are nine of us (2 families) and the layout of this cottage made for a very enjoyable visit. The views and the location of this rental are the best! The second kitchen on the bottom floor with the pool table and bar area, the grill and hot tub on the lake side porch made it perfect for two families to enjoy their together time and alone time. The bedrooms upstairs are very spacious and the main floor living space is roomy and has spectacular views of the lake from the top deck (which is covered – a great place for my morning coffee). The garage made it easy to unpack and pack without getting wet (we had a rainy departure day) and the extra parking to the side of the house was very convenient. The owner had added a fire pit which we enjoyed every evening. My only complaint, which really isn’t a complaint, was the smell of the water but the owner let us know about that before our arrival. John was very helpful and if we travel back to Cuba Lake, we would definitely like to stay at this wonderful cabin.
We loved our time at the lake house (it is definitely more than a cottage). The house was well appointed and there were lots of areas for us to spread out and not be on top of each other. The kids loved the lower level with pool table. We spent most of our stay out on the dock - fishing, swimming, and kayaking. The hot tub was a bonus. The owner was very helpful and answered any of our questions quickly. Cuba Lake is beautiful and the views of the sunset from the house are amazing.
We enjoyed being in the cottage for the weekend. Everything was provided, the view from every window was beautiful, and the rooms were spacious. It was great to entertain our extended family. Evelyn, Jim & Judy, John & Heather, and Jay Harbeck
This trip was great. Our family of 8 adults and 4 kids fit no problem into this large 3 story lake house. The view and access to the lake were perfect with walkout doors to the dock and large wrap around porch. The first floor bar, tv, fridge, bathroom and pool table were great for late night adult fun while the kids slept in the large 3rd floor bedrooms. The second floor open concept kitchen, dining area, and living room were great for family meals with plenty of space for all 12 of us to cook and spread out to eat, play, and talk. With separate bedrooms and bathrooms on all 3 floors i didnt need to see my in-laws in their pajamas or fight for a toilet in the morning. The kayaks were great fun for the kids and they even caught some fish off the dock with a novelty iron man fishing pole. We honestly couldnt have been happier with our time there. John was a great host who let us come early, leave late, and wasn't hard to get a hold of, communicating over the phone with me throughout the stay. The house was clean and well kept and the space and amenities were more than adequate for all of us. I will agree the tap water smells like farts and i wouldnt drink it, but thats just city folk not wanting well water. We came prepared with plenty of bottled water knowing this would be the case. I cant knock the property for this because its just what you get in this area. Bring water or just more beer and then breath through your mouth when you do dishes. Meanwhile enjoy the lake, view, and fun times with your kids while staying in this amazing property. Still cant get over the ammount of space in this place or how awesome that first floor is at night. We can't wait to go back.
Didn't get to spend a lot of time at the house, mainly sleeping. It was just what we needed
