The quaint, remote Three Pine Cabin sits above the Upper Meramec River, 5 miles from Interstate I-44 (exit 208) and 3 miles from Steelville, MO. It's the perfect place to stay while you enjoy a day of fun floating, swimming, fishing (this stretch of the river is known for its trophy smallmouth bass), and/or visiting the local attractions. There are three recreational outfitters within 5 miles of the cabin with a great selection of canoes, kayaks, rafts and tubes to float the river. One of the outfitters has a put in below the cabin, which you could walk too and they will bring you back to the cabin at the end of your float.
The cabin is great for a family or a small group of guys or gals on a weekend retreat. Two bedrooms with a full bed and full/twin bunk bed and pull out full size couch to accommodate up to seven guest.
Local attractions are Meramec Spring State Park, Dillard Mill State Park, the Meramec Music Theater, Wildwild Springs Lodge fall concert series, numerous vineyards and antiquing.
Note: If you look up the address on Google Maps or Mapquest they both have the location marked incorrectly. The cabin is located down the first left drive off of Idlewild Road. The cabin sets above the river.
Additional Guest Fee $10
Very clean and comfortable. Owner very nice. Brought us cucumbers from her garden and dropped us off for our float. Nice deck and patio. Very relaxing
Wonderful little cabin tucked away from busy city Life. We had a wonderful stay for our 28th anniversary & hope to make it back again sometime soon. Sheila was greet with answering questions and very accommodating.
Cabin was comfortable and conveniently located right next to the river. GPS instructions might lead you astray so remember to follow the instructions mentioned in the description
This cabin is very peaceful and secluded, yet you can get to stores in a matter of minutes. Plus it’s conveniently located to several things that we had a blast doing. We did the Bird’s nest river rafting and you just walk a short distance and get right in. We also did the Onondaga Caves, horseback riding, and spent our evening enjoying the cabin. We actually hated to leave. Thank you for the perfect stay.
My wife & I were looking for a place to stay for some time away from the usual hectic schedule of life and were delighted to find a place that was not only remote/quiet, but was also dog friendly. We enjoyed staying at Three Pine Cabin as we explored some local sights. We wanted a place that was quiet and peaceful and we couldn't have asked for much better in that regard. It is close to the Meramec river surrounded almost entirely by forest. The road in to the property is dirt so be aware of that before going in if you are driving a vehicle that might have problems on dirt roads that have ups and downs. Three Pine Cabin had everything we needed to have a comfortable stay for us and our dog. We would definitely want to stay there again if we come back to the area for another visit.
If u want to get away from "citylife"..this is the place to go.!!! Very clean...they have everything there from Band-Aids to dish soap ect... If you need to contact owners...very quick on response..I would recommend to anyone...and we WILL be back!!!
Overall highly satisfied
Had a great time cabin was awesome located in a nice spot without nobody in your business great place to get away and relax definitely recommend and will most definitely try to come back out to this cabin again
The property was lovely, you were surrounded by trees and there was a little lawn. The kids and dog had great space to roam and play. You have a peekaboo view of the river from the deck, which was a the perfect spot to have coffee and watch the sunrise and the fog roll in. The gravel road was in decent, typical gravel road conditions. It was nice to have the gate at the end of the drive. It gave added privacy, for the other travelers going to the lodge that is walking distance from the cabin. The lodge was a little closer than I had anticipated, you could see it through the trees at times. We went in October, so not much traffic and no outfitter buses traveling around. We did attempt to walk to the Rivers Edge but there were patrons of the Lodge already enjoying the spot and I didn't want to bring my kids and dog down and interrupt them. Overall the Lodge wasn't a big deal. In fact one night when we were sitting outside at the fire pit, we could hear a jazz band playing a concert from the lodge. It was kind of fun to hear it lightly in the background. We were able to drive to out to Hikes at some of the relatively close state parks. Eventually rain came and didn't leave on our Saturday night there. But the covered carport/patio allowed us to sit and have a drink, while the kids played happily in a little fort they built up on the hill. As a family we love the woods and being outside and this was a lovely property to spend time when we weren't hiking. Once the rain increased and the dark settled in we returned to the cabin. The cabin offered great space for the 4 of us and one jumbo dog. There was plenty of room to spread out on the floor with toys and it was fun to be able to watch a little animal planet before bed. I love that there wasn't any wifi. The kids 12 and 6 were happy, just being kids and immersing themselves in nature and their imaginations. The cabin was clean and fairly well stocked. It felt cozy and we enjoyed our time. There were a few tiny maintenance things that could be addressed, fixing the screen door would be nice to keep bugs out when we had the door open. The patio door handle was exceptionally hard to open. A 2nd blind in the bunk bed room, we just used towels to cover. There was a slight musty odor, but you get use to it. None of these things were a big deal! I had full cell service with Sprint. Moms phone ATT didn't have it inside. We had a great weekend and great time at Three Pines Cabin.
This cabin is so peaceful- we had a nice quiet weekend away to recharge. Loved that it was close to some wineries. Host was super responsive and check in/check out was very easy.
