Like new home with updated appliances, well situated in piney woods with scenic water vistas. Wonderful stay within walking distance of two lighthouses, beach and nice marina. Loved the fireplace and cross country ski trails. Highly recommend!
Steve and Ann are awesome hosts! Wonderful visit to Michigan's best kept secret. Many memories were made here. Most remarkable starry nights and magnificant sunsets. Enjoyed coffee on the deck in the morning, watching eagles soar. Great fishing in the area. Really enjoyed the visits to the lighthouses. We can't wait to come back.
Thank you for a truly awesome weekend at your North Bay Getaway. In our party were 7 adults and a 3 month old baby. The "cabin" was perfect for our needs and allowed us to catch up on some real family time. We were all quite comfortable day AND night. As hosts, you really thought of everything! The mornings were lovely, peaceful & still, and the sunsets, well in a word, they were amazing! We could not find the sunken boat. Guess we'll have to come back next year to search again! Thanks again.
Our family came upon the cabin by pure luck when we needed a place for my mothers birthday. Boy are we glad we did. Steve and Ann are awesome hosts, and have thought of simply everything, even accomodated us w/ extra tables. We did not need for anything during our stay @ The North Bay Getaway! Swimming/Privacy/Sun/Fun, we accomplished it all. We would truly like to stay here forever. I hope that everyone that follows has as amazing of a time as we did. Thank you so much to Steve & Ann, and their beautiful energy & cabin. We would love to come back!
We spent our 14th Wedding Anniversary here. Great experience. The owners are very friendly and accommodating. The home has many new features and seems to be well taken care of -- upstairs remodeled and nearly new. Downstairs bath and kitchen in good shape. The bed was very comfortable and the place seems very clean. It was wonderful to be able to take our dog along as she is a big part of our family. My wife and I are very picky about where we stay so we were very happy that the place met our high standards. Beautiful views from the deck. Very rural location with the owner's neighboring cottage being the only other one within view. The place was wonderful and the owners being so great to work with made the stay very memorable. Just wish we lived closer so that we could make this a regular vacation spot. We would definitely stay here again.
Steve and Ann were the absolute nicest people I have ever rented a vacation home from. My family of 8 adults stayed there comfortably, and we truly had a blast. The cabin is on the shore of the bay, so every evening we saw a breathtaking sunset. A Bald Eagle has set up residence nearby and we saw him several times on a rock about 20 yards off shore. Steve was kind enough to give us 2 frozen vacuum sealed packs of Walleye, and they were superb. The swimming beach had crystal clear water and a few friendly locals about a half mile away from the house. Every eveing we had a campfire, and when Steve noticed we ran out of wood he replenished it immediately. The only thing the house was lacking when we arrived was laundry detergent, and Steve made a special trip just for us to get some. I would recommend it, and would definitely go back. We had a perfect trip.
We chose this for our semi-annual "Cousins Getaway" Every other year we try to choose a location where we can visit, relax and sight see. We found this to be an ideal location. Steve was absolutely super when it came to making sure we had everything we needed. The cottage was supplied with all necessities required to st up housekeeping for a week. During our stay we experienced a power outage due to a severe storm. Steve called form his home, 20 miles away, and offered to bring flashlights and lanterns. Really appreciated his concern but told him we all lived in the country and were used to no power at times. The cottage is right on the beach. There is a really nice restaurant and a small general store within in walking distance. Also several historic lighthouses that you can walk too. Mackinac Island, Mackinaw City and Sault St. Marie are within easy driving distance as well as many other interesting things to see and do. We couldn't have had a nicer experience. We stayed mid June and the weather was very nice. Would highly recommend this to anyone.
We enjoyed a week of family convening from several states to meet at North Bay Getaway. The cottage was way more than we expected from looking at the posted pictures. It was much much larger than we'd expected. We had 8 people comfortably for part of our week and 15 people for a one day gathering. Our 3 year old absolutely loved the carpeted stairs and the loft to throw her toys from. The deck was huge - we moved the inside table outside and had 2 large tables for a picnic. Downstairs, one bedroom has a queen, and one bedroom has 2 twin beds. Upstairs there's a queen bedroom and a bedroom with bunk beds. One bath with shower is downstairs and 1 bath with tub is upstairs. Steve was very helpful from the beginning phone conversations to providing everything in the cottage we could possibly need - plenty of linens, soaps, all kitchen needs. After seeing this place, my brother's family who visited us are considering this for their family gathering next summer. I'd highly recommend this to anyoner who wants a quiet getaway or a home base to take day trips. Other than Steve's cottage (which is hidden by trees) no other cottage is nearby. We enjoyed visiting area lighthouses, a day trip to Mackinaw City, shipwreck tour, and mostly just being with family in a special place.
