This was our fourth annual family ski vacation and this rental was our favorite so far. Our group includes seniors, adults, young adults, kids and a toddler. The location is so convenient, being just 30 minutes from Ski Santa Fe and a few minutes walk to The Plaza. Shopping necessities are minutes away. We loved the huge, private back yard! It would be an especially wonderful place to be in the spring and summer to really take advantage of the outdoor cooking and dining arrangements. For our group, the house worked out really well. It provided areas for privacy when needed but also space for all of us to gather. The home was clean, well maintained and provides great views. We cooked most meals so the large, well-equipped kitchen was ideal. Beds were comfortable (we had air mattresses for the younger set) and the 4.5 bathrooms worked out well, even for our big group. We truly enjoyed our stay in Santa Fe and were delighted with this rental. It is the only rental in our four years of doing the annual family gathering that we will seek to rent for a second time. The owner is really great to work with so making the arrangements was easy and uncomplicated.
Seven women high school friends shared this lovely house for a reunion weekend. It accommodated us well with plenty of room, and privacy as needed, for all. The house is well appointed and equipped—highly recommended!
We had a great stay in this home, had 14 guests and it was perfect. Open and spacious rooms made hanging out inside and outside lovely. The outdoor space was wonderful for cool evenings. House is very close to downtown Santa Fe as well as grocery stores and hiking trails. Owner communicated very well with us before and during the trip, we had some small issues during our stay and he was very helpful and easy to get a hold of. I would recommend this house to anyone looking to stay with a large group in Santa Fe.
While unusually cold and snowy weather threatened the arrival of our guests, the location near shopping and the plaza allowed both in-house meals and walks to the variety of the plaza. New Year's Eve was especially enjoyable, despite near-blizzard weather. While the band in the plaza struggled to keep their fingers warm, our walking to and from and our vigorous dancing kept us warm and jovial. This house provided an unforgettable holiday for our family. While at the house, the many gathering places in the house provided enjoyable spaces for the wide age-range of family members. Playing pool with grand children and adult conversation by the fire could be simultaneous. We enjoyed it!
Spacious house with lots of gathering space, including large outdoor seating and dining areas with view of mountains. Short walk or car ride to plaza. This was perfect for our group of six.
Our family gathered for the weekend to attend our 85-year old father’s retirement attending the annual event as an artist which he had been doing for the last 30+ years. The location of the property served our purposes more than expected. It was like our home away from home. It was perfect!
This house and location are beautiful, views are beautiful. This was the perfect venue for the 12 people that got together for this 6 cousin/spouse reunion. We had a wonderful visit, cooked some great meals together and thoroughly enjoyed Santa Fe with it's wonderful history, museums, restaurants, plaza and people. Our only, very minor complaints/questions, were quickly handled when we arrived: 1)we had an issue with the key lock box for the apartment, 2) controls on range were not acting properly, 3) we found only one toilet paper roll in each bathroom, while storage room had plenty of paper towels/Kleenex and other supplies. Issues number 1 and 2 were handled quickly by conversation with Owner/manager, number 3 was quickly handled by a already scheduled visit to the very convenient grocery store. Our remaining 4 days had no issues, just great fun! A note of caution, the driveway is abrupt coming off street access and cars with low clearance need to enter at a good angle to avoid scraping. Adequate parking in drive for 4 or 5 cars depending on size. I would highly recommend this space to anyone looking for a great get together, plenty of meeting space and yet plenty of privacy for quick nap!!
This is a wonderful property with an equally wonderful and responsive host. The place is HUGE. Rooms everywhere. Well appointed kitchen. Comfy beds. Excellent location walkable to downtown Santa Fe.
My wife and I have visited Santa Fe almost every year since 1992, often with another couple, But since this year was the first time we took the entire family -- eight adults and three children under 4 – we needed a much larger place than the cosy little adobes near Canyon Road that we are used to. This large, roomy and convenient VRBO turned out to be perfect for us. The house is well equipped, modern and clean. There is a large kitchen and a gigantic dining room – where it was a delight to sit and look out the windows at the mountains (and a rainbow). The garden was a fine space for the little ones to run around in, while the adults sat in the sun planning the days. A wooden chest full of information about Santa Fe and the entire area was extremely helpful. Perhaps the most happily surprising feature of this house is its location – from the map it might look a bit far from the heart of SF, but it turned out to be only a short walk to the Plaza (and the Palace of the Governors). Indeed, the family walked to Pasquale’s (don't miss it for breakfast!) in less than 15 minutes, while looking in stores windows and pushing strollers. SantCafe is only a 7 minute walk – again, while pushing strollers. There is a large playground/park right across the Old Taos Highway (which has almost no traffic, since it no longer leads into US 285/84). And the cool, tree-filled park next the federal courthouse, just down the hill and across the Paseo de Peralta, is a wonderful place to sit and relax. The house has plenty of parking for friends to visit (we had three cars and still had room to spare).
It’s been long enough that the site’s calendar won’t allow me to enter our vacation date. Our true “date of stay” should read December 22, 2012. Our family’s reminiscing about this memorable 2012 trip has been a recurring conversation. It always includes that this vacation rental was the perfect choice for our group. This house had all the expected basics, plus extras that maximized our experience. There were 14 of us, which made the washer/dryer and room for 4 cars a plus. We utilized the apartment, which gave us the perfect amount of space for comfortable sleeping arrangements. The kids could retreat to the apartment for sleep/late night movie watching. Most of the time, the 14 of us were gathering in the house to play pool, watch TV in the entertainment room, work a giant puzzle in the living room, crowd around the dining table for hours-long Dutch Blitz tournaments, and gather in the kitchen to visit while cooking and eating. My sister-in-law pre-planned the menu, and we did a grocery store run our first evening in Santa Fe. We had plenty of fridge/freezer/pantry/cabinet room for putting everything away. I pre-planned the things-to-do list. We were VERY pleased with the location of the house in proximity to the grocery store and to the things we wanted to do. The majority of the time, we walked to our destinations. Below are some of our favorite destinations, and distances from the house. The homeowner was great to work with. He was very prompt and helpful in answering all of my questions, whether they were rental specific or about things to do in Santa Fe. We made sure we cleaned up upon our departure which included adhering to Santa Fe’s trash restrictions (utilizing the trash tags correctly and the allotted trash capacity). The owner went out of his way to explain those particulars, and I think we did it correctly. Not only did our accommodations help to make for a fabulous trip, the owner was prompt in returning our security deposit! Thanks for the memories!! Can't wait to go back!
