My husband and our three children (ages 12, 12 and 16) just enjoyed a wonderful, relaxing long weekend in this beautiful lakefront home. It was extremely spacious and yet still felt very cozy - and you couldn't ask for a more picturesque setting. Unfortunately for us, Mother Nature did not cooperate during our much too short stay, and we were unable to enjoy all the outdoor activities that we had hoped. We did manage to get in a few trips in the kayak and some fishing from the dock - not to mention a successful s'mores session one evening at the outdoor fire pit! However, the house itself (especially the game room in the basement) offered plenty of ways to pleasantly while away the rainy hours. The Norman Rockwell Museum is only about 40 minutes away in Stockbridge and is a great way to spend a few hours. No admission is charged for children 18 and under and after visiting the indoor exhibits, we then spent some time outside exploring the gorgeous surrounding grounds. Returning to Otis, we enjoyed a delicious, affordable meal and fantastic service at the Knox Trail Inn just five minutes away from home base. Bad weather notwithstanding, we had a wonderful time in this lake house and Marshal, the owner, was extremely gracious and quick to respond to any questions. All in all, a great getaway in the sleepy, bucolic town that is Otis in April. Wish we could have stayed longer. Highly recommend :)
The house was lovely, bright, homely, scrupulously clean and had everything needed for a family of six on holiday. The setting was peaceful, with shady trees and the lake greeting us every morning. Canoeing and kayaking was a highlight and something that our 11 year old son had not done before. He had a wonderful time! We saw lots of wildlife; geese and their goslings, foxes, deer and some little creatures that we don’t have in the UK! Communication with Marshal was easy and his replies were prompt and very helpful. Katie’s Country Store in East Otis is well worth a visit. We are planning our return trip for 2021 already. Thank you Marshal for sharing your lovely house.
This was our second year renting this property. It’s waterfront location is ideal and home very comfortable - accommodating a large group easily with much to do. Marshal is very quick to respond which is so appreciated! Our group loves to kayak, hike and bike all within easy reach.
What a lovely home and what a fantastic piece of property. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I'm coming back next year...Bob Simek
This property has the most relaxing, beautiful view (in my opinion). Everything was as advertised. The owner is nice and prompt, a pleasure to deal with. Would consider renting again (so we could explore the area more). Thank you.
Love this property has a million dollar view and is so relaxing and comfortable looking forward to many more stays here!
The accommodations were exactly as stated and seen online. We had an enjoyable experience and would rent this home again.
It was so nice to get away and stay at this spacious, clean, cozy home with such a great view! Appreciated the easy accessibility of the owner via phone/ text. Already thinking of coming back again during summer months.
My family celebrated Thanksgiving at this beautiful house and loved the view, the peace and quiet and the homey welcoming house - the Kids had a great time playing pool and ping pong and the husband fished … thank you for the memories!!
Loved every minute of our stay. Would loved to go back. Thx Marshall.
