About the Property
El Templito (The Little Temple) is just above the beach at the quiet north end of Sayulita Bay, set in a lush tropical garden, under a giant Fig Tree where there are great ocean views, a swimming pool, and balmy sea breezes. Stately Cantera stone stairs lead down from vine covered parking area above, to a lovely little courtyard filled with tropical plants. Beautiful hand carved Cantara stone columns support the tile roof covering the open-air combination kitchen/living/dining room. The surrounding stone arches frame the lovely views looking out on the hills of Sayulita, the tropical gardens, the private pool, and the ocean and beach views. There are Mexican tiled counters and modern appliances in the well-equipped kitchen. Just off the patio is a small wading pool above the larger, deeper pool. You can see the beach from the pool. A cobblestone stairway leads down through lush gardens of heliconia, palms, and gingers to your own private stairway to the quiet north end of Sayulita beach (Playa Norte) and trails to the pristine beaches to the north. Templito has two air conditioned King size bedrooms that are in separate, adjacent buildings. Each suite has gracious Mexican tiled bathrooms with showers, comfortable king size beds, handmade local hardwood furniture and regional artwork. There is air-conditioning and safes in both bedrooms. The house has bath and beach towels, bed linens, purified, reverse osmosis filtered drinking water, and maid service. We provide a cell phone for local calls and there is WI Fi internet access. Iris the property manager can arrange airport pickup, golf cart rentals, in house massages, fishing trips, catering,etc. Templito is a perfect getaway for two couples, a couple with an older child or friend, or honeymooners. (Due to the separate bedrooms and the open architecture, we do not recommend this house for young children unless they are in the same bedroom with you) Templito is a peaceful, tranquil retreat where body and soul can relax, watch and listen to the ocean waves, the whales, exotic jungle and sea birds, and spectacular sunsets. El Templito is a the perfect place to be at peace and harmony with nature and enjoy beautiful Sayulita and all it has to offer. |

My family ( wife and 14 year old son) just got back from a great vacation in Sayulita at El Templito. The house was perfect for us , great location on quiet north side of town but easy access by beach walk or we rented a golf cart. House was nicely decorated, clean with all the amenities needed. Very relaxing, breakfast in morning with coffee on the beach. We surfed everyday in Sayulita or Punta Mita , body surfed in front of the house. They also had lots of great restaurants from Mexican, Seafood, Smoothies, Pizza.. Awesome realxing vacation and well taken care of by Andrea and staff! Thanks we will be back!

My wife and I found El Templito to be a small, beautiful and peaceful haven with considerable privacy afforded by the surrounding growth, and yet with the nearly-secluded beach just steps away. And a lovely pool! As an added bonus, it was one of the very few homes we've rented in the PV-Sayulita area where everything worked; when the air conditioner went out in one of the bedrooms, the wonderful manager (Iris) had it fixed within two hours.

We were absolutely impressed with El Templito! When we checked in the place was super clean and felt very welcoming. The open air kitchen and sitting area were great for experiencing the true culture of Mexico. It was so nice to be able to jump into the pool to cool off after spending some time in town. Iris the property manager was fantastic, friendly and shared great information about taking adventures in Sayulita. When one of the safe deposits broke Iris had it fixed within a couple of hours. We appreciated the efficient cleaning service as well. My husband and I have a warm heart to Sayulita and this house just made our stay even better! We had a very nice time at Templito. The property was very accurately described and depicted in the pictures. The local house manager greeted us on arrival and was available and very friendly throughout the trip. She helped arranged quite a few things for us, and also cooked us an authentic meal for 15 guests one night! The property had a nice sea breeze and good shade cover. I have no complaints about the property. I will say in a minor way that pictures made it seem that the property was maybe 15 feet from the beach. It's more like 60 feet from the beach, but the benefit is that the property is higher up on the hill, and therefore gets a nice cool breeze. Overall it's a truly first rate property, with excellent and unobstructed beach access. Highly recommended!

I have been wanting to visit Sayulita since the January 2009 issue of Sunset Magazine displayed it on the cover, I guess it took me a minute to get there. I constantly browsed VRBO for the perfect place, with so many lovely homes to choose from, it was difficult to make a decision. I had always had my eye on El Templito ( little temple) and thought if my husband and I were to go alone, this would be the place. I was always searching for a larger home because our family was too large for this property. We lost our oldest son in a work related accident, this past May, days before his 26th birthday, and we had just been so broken, and continue to be for that matter, we just needed to get away, get some perspective and try to let go of the pain and learn to celebrate the wonderful gift we had been given to have had him at all. This magical place was exactly what we needed to begin to heal. We decided to bring a piece of him, wherever we go to release him in the tides, as we did one evening on the back of a baby turtle, which if you knew our son, he would think that was hilarious. This trip enabled us to leave our worries behind, and laugh again. As for the property itself, I could not have picked a better one if I tried, from the moment we arrived, we knew we were exactly where we should be. We were greeted by Iris, and Eduardo, and got to know Bertha throughout our stay, I cannot sing high enough praises for their lovely giving hearts, and their kindness. it was a piece of heaven and will remain one of our fondest memories, and we plan to make it an annual trip. We traveled with another couple and found the amount of space to be perfect. The open kitchen is unique and made for fun dinners in. We really enjoyed the meal Iris made. The highlight is layout and pool area. We spent a lot of time lounging by the pool with frozen cocktails. If you are looking for something off the beaten path, this place is for you!

Recently stayed 4 nights in El Templito and had a wonderful time! The home was perfectly located on a quiet street and just steps from the beach. The owner of the home, Andrea, was very responsive and quick to answer any questions we had. Iris the property manager was also extremely helpful during our stay. She helped us arrange a gulf cart and also helped us arrange airport pickup and drop off. We were also lucky enough to have a home cooked meal prepared by Bertha. It was awesome!! Totally recommend this place!

Upon arrival at the house we were elated. It was as described. It was well kept, and EXACTLY what we were hoping for. The staff kept everything in tip top shape. Everything worked. The location is perfect (I do recommend renting a golf cart). But the location felt so private yet we were minutes out of town. I would highly recommend this property for a group of 4!

The location of this wonderful home is fantastic! (definitely a home and not just a house!) Close to the town centre, yet feels like you are in a country oasis! The property is even more beautiful than the photos; the yard, deck and hot-tub areas are fabulously private, beautifully furnished and well maintained. The interior is also wonderful with many different options for seating / dining. The kitchen is actually a cook's kitchen and more than fully equipped - the best "rental" kitchen we have ever been in! We will definitely be back to enjoy again!

We were SO comfortable in this home - perfect location and the view of the mountains was an added plus. It was so relaxing to sit out on back porch. The house was so clean. Healdsburg is an adorable town. We have been to the wine country a number of times though this was the first time that we spent a whole week there. We would most definitely stay in this home again and have already recommended it to others.
