Haven Lane Cabin - Peaceful Cabin on the Whitefish Chain

My fiance and I stayed at this cabin for a weekend. We really enjoyed our stay. The cabin is rustic but offers everything one would need. There is a full kitchen, fully stocked with cookware, utensils, and dishes. Everything was clean and in working order. We appreciated the TV with dvd player and satellite TV for a rainy evening. The cabin offers a private dock and the owners allow you to use the kayaks, canoe, and fishing boat. The lake is clean and clear and we really enjoyed the beautiful view from the deck. There is a fire pit and charcoal grill, and 2 screened-in porches. We loved that the cabin was at the end of dead end road and was nice and quiet. It was just a short drive to town and we had a great time exploring the town of Crosslake. We really enjoyed our nice weekend getaway with our dogs and look forward to returning!

Our family spent a week at this cabin and it was exactly what we hoped for. Jon and Kate were wonderful hosts, and made sure we had everything we needed to be comfortable. Jon was a great help to get our large boat docked at the landing, and parked on the property. He also gave us a quick tour of the town since it was our first time. We were grateful for his help. The cabin is on a dead end road and it provided the quiet getaway from the city we were looking for. Cell phone service was limited for us at the cabin, although we found it a good excuse to get away from technology. Listening to the loons and drinking coffee on the dock was so relaxing. The screened in porch was perfect for the nights when the bugs were bad. The cabin is rustic, but had all the amenities we needed:fridge/freezer, microwave, coffee pot, stove/oven, and tv with cable. We brought our two dogs with and I was so impressed with the cabin cleanliness. There was no previous pet smells that sometimes go with cabins where pets are allowed. The lake connects to many other lakes, although we spent our entire week on Island lake where the cabin was. It was large enough to enjoy fishing and tubing, yet quiet and away from the traffic on the other lakes on the chain. We enjoyed the kayaks available to use, and the kids loved swimming in the lake. The water was very clear and a nice sandy bottom near the dock that was perfect for kids to swim. We plan to return to the Dale's cabin whenever we look for a getaway up north away from the city. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a rustic cabin to relax and get away from the busy times of day to day life.

Our family of five (children 17, 20, 21) enjoyed a wonderful week at this cabin. The accommodations were exactly as described, which were perfect for our needs and the owners were pleasant and and very accommodating. The water pressure was excellent which was surprising given the cabin was built so long ago. We loved it's layout and really enjoyed the front porch overlooking the lake. We felt like we were at a mini resort with all the lakeside amenities and the lake itself is beautiful and quiet. We made frequent boat trips on the chain, but always enjoyed the peacefulness of returning to our quaint get-away. We saw countless eagles and deer while we enjoyed the spacious dock. It was nice to sit down there at night and see the stars so vividly. Kate was so kind in mailing my husband's hat he left behind. I wouldn't hesitate to rent this property again!!
