Looking Glass is a small 5 bedroom Bed & Breakfast perched 79 steps up from the street offering breathtaking views of Lake Michigan, Grand Haven Lighthouse, the pier, and Grand Haven State Park Beach. Whether you take the stairs or the historic electric Trolley up, you will be rewarded with the best views of any Hotel or B&B in Grand Haven. Sand Room- Full Lake View- en suite The Sand Room is not only our largest guest room, but it also has one of the views. The warm sand-colored stucco walls remind you of Grand Haven’s famous beach as you gaze out on Lake Michigan, the pier, and the lighthouse right from the comfort of your King bed. The view is the one of the best of any Grand Haven Accommodation! Water Room - Full Lake View- en suite This inviting room has one of the best views at Looking Glass with full views of Lake Michigan with good views of the beach and pier as well. The Ombre paint technique gives a unique feel that is reminiscent of the waters below. The view in this guest room is one of the best of any Grand Haven Accommodation! Sky Room - Partial Lake View- en suite The Sky room gives a feeling of a nice summer day. It is a south-facing room giving you nice sunny mornings and afternoons. The lighted Bed Crown Coronet, soft blues, and comfortable bedding make you feel like you are in the clouds. Dunegrass Family Room The Dunegrass room is our Family room that has a Queen bed in the main area and 2 twin beds in what we call the loft. The room is set up as 2 separate rooms connected by a bathroom Jack and Jill style. Bathroom has a tub/shower combo, sink, and toilet. Driftwood Room - Partial Lake view- en suite The Driftwood room may be our smallest room but with partial views of Lake Michigan, the pier, and lighthouse, you’ll quickly love this room. A full ceiling height custom headboard adds a unique element to this natural feeling room. The private bathroom has a stand up shower, sink and toilet. Not sure on the dates you want? If you want to visit Grand Haven or just want a little getaway ( You definitely should visit here) this is a great place. Brian runs this Bed & Breakfast and will take care of you. The building is on top of a hill and even has a trolley system to get you there if you think there are too many steps. The Building has some of the best views over looking the ocean. Grand Haven is a wonderful little town. Would recommend this B&B to everyone.
This is the perfect place to stay in Grand Haven. Rooms are charming and pleasant, the view is unbeatable, and Brian makes everyone feel welcome as he supplies everything to make their visit wonderful. And he makes a great breakfast, too! Wish we had more time there!
I wanted to take my daughter on a quick getaway and I just happened to come across this charming little place in Grand Haven. I was so grateful that I stumbled upon it because it truly was such a delightful experience! The owner is attentive and welcoming and went out of his way to accommodate myself and my one year old daughter. I would definitely recommend this place for solo and family getaways. Also- the baked french toast we were served for breakfast was DELICIOUS.
My partner and I stayed here for 2 nights during the week (Monday, Tuesday). The location could not have been better. You are steps away from what we consider to be the best beach in Grand Haven- The Grand Haven State Park Beach. The Pier is about a 15 minute walk away and if you want to go into town to eat, the lighthouse connection park/trail on the grand river is about 10 minutes walk. We brought our bikes and rode into to town with no problems (there is also a bike rack at the B&B) The B&B is situated on a very steep dune, but there is a little trolley that can take you up to the house with no effort at all. We stayed in the Driftwood room- It was very clean and well furnished. We loved the private bathroom after being at the beach all day. The home itself is very tastefully decorated, and very comfortable inside- but this is not the draw of the home. The front porch is spectacular. We spent as much time as we could (it was a bit chilly) out here during both evenings we stayed. The views are great, but the sunset OMG. We bought a bottle of wine to drink and watch. Best decision we've ever made! I highly recommend this hotel- Brian, the Inn-keeper is very friendly and not too chatty to leave you to do your own thing. We really enjoyed ourselves and will be back.
Awesome Experience The Room was amazing, and Owner was amazing. The breakfast was just to die for!!! Even had smoked, fresh caught fish!! Couldn’t ask for a better experience at all. He seems to really care. Has beach towels and really anything you need, thoughtful snacks out. The views are just amazing, I recommend the Blue Room with the lake view.. Great for Children..Free Wifi Can’t ask for much more I will definitely be coming back next year ????
The B&B is situated on a bluff overlooking the lake and the view from the Water Room was awesome. You can hear the waves through the windows as you drift off to sleep after watching the sun set behind the lighthouse
Our family of four had a great stay! Talk about convenience! The beach is right across the street as is the bike path. The common areas were clean and had amazing views of Lake Michigan. The owner was incredibly accommodating and made us feel right at home. We will be back
We had a wonderful experience at this B&B. Only my second experience ever with a B&B and he has set the bar very high. So clean, welcoming, aesthetically beautiful, thoughtful touches, excellent food and overall terrific stay
I had a business trip and after 3+ months of staying at home due to COVID-19, I decided to take my wife and daughters along. The room was very nice. The view from the deck is better. Brian took great care to see that we had everything we needed for the girls to enjoy themselves at the beach while I was working. I loved having my coffee on the deck overlooking lake Michigan. What a pleasant place to stay.
Brian was so great! He also makes a delicious breakfast! We loved just sitting out on the deck and enjoying lake life living, and it's also very convenient to downtown. Also, the trolley is life-saving after enjoying the local watering holes :) We even got to meet some other guests and definitely with COVID it was nice to meet new people all while following guidelines to keeping us safe. We can't wait to go back!
