About the Property
My son Franck and I discovered Baja in 2005, while on a sailing adventure from Bainbridge Island, WA, South Pacific bound, Cabo enroute to catch trade winds, Thanksgiving dinner, Los Barriles the lure, purchased Villa de Suenos, 7 yrs full time, HS graduation, sold in December of 2012,found this diamond in the rough. Peaceful setting, miles of white sand beaches, great kite launching and no congestion in the Cerralvo Channel! Magnificent sunrises, sunsets, "Casa Suenos, home away from home" The space Classic Spanish Colonial architecture seldom found in Baja Sur with traditional details adorn Casa Suenos. Interiors by me, Betsy, Candy Colored Dreams, from beginning to end including concrete finishing, staining, to decoration. Multi colored clay tiles on roof, wood vaulted ceiling with exposed beams, 10 wooden French doors which allow for full, clear views and ventilation. Upstairs Master BR features a swinging rope queen size, with 3 sets of French doors opening onto a balcony affording breathtaking views of the Sea of Cortez, Isla Cerralvo, and Punta Arena to the East, Western views of desert hills and sunsets to finish the day. Upstairs bath features a copper tub from mainland Mexico with handheld shower. Across the hall is a twin bed/lounge arrangement for sleeping and/or viewing movies, kiting demos or your choice! A very adequate gym occupies 1/2 of this area should a workout be part of the daily routine? For those passionate about entertaining and cooking(I am), a Gourmet kitchen with center island for gathering, prepping, baking, or blending margaritas(!), S/S Thermador 6 burner gas range, many appliances for cooking options, S/S DBL drawer fridge, concrete counters with integral double sinks, Keurig coffee machine, Bileti stove top, or French press for coffee conniseurs. Outside, a wood fired BBQ and traditional brick oven to entice the chef at heart! There is NO dishwasher. Downstairs BR with adjoining bathroom has a queen, armoire, adjoins the custom bathroom featuring limestone counters, onyx in the rough with lighting from beneath, external plumbed copper shower with handheld, and the beach at your feet! NOTE: mattresses are tempurpedic. Decorations throughout include family heirlooms from the U.S. and Europe, found objects, Mexican Talavera, and personal art. From 2005 to 2013, I lived permanently in Mexico, moving my personal possessions more than once from the United States. I call this home and hope my guests will find this home away from home! You will find a notebook with details upon arrival. Sirius Radio/HIGH SPEED INTERNET and VIZIO SMART 55" TV with DVD player in Gym/Twin BR. Dedicated HIGH SPEED(fiber optics) internet on the premises Use your WiFi accounts from up north, watch your favorite movies, from Netflix account, Amazon etc.! Won't bog down like many properties supported with Telmex's Infinitum. As tourists arrive more and more people are on line, slowing down upload/download. You will find a home guide book to answer all of your questions! ENJOY Your Vacation! NOTE: Per Person xtra charge: There is an extra charge for additional guests above 6. DOGS/PETS will be considered on a per pet basis. Please be prepared to provide Breed, Weight, and photos of all pets to be considered. Non shedding smaller breeds are preferred. There will be a per pet per day fee in addition to the rental fees. Feel free to inquire. Guest access Guests will have access to entire property(excluding vehicle Bodega) Outdoor shower is located near back door or entrance door of casa for your convenience as well as an additonal large fridge/freezer in adjacent walk-in bodega. Bodega translates as garage or storage shed. AirConditioning can be used in summer months however IMPORTANT to remove AC unit covers prior to turning on. WASHER is NEW, PLEASE familiarize yourself with operation before using. Laundry can be easily done in El Sargento with ROSY. Other things to note A rental Car is necessary, 4X4 or 2WD, getting you to and from airport conveniently as well as around the village, to beaches, market, to restaurants, Todos Santos (home of Hotel California), La Paz a seaside city, El Triunfo, home to the piano and mining museum, El Triunfo Cafe and El Minero(2 great restaurants)lots of history. SHUTTLE SERVICE: Samuel Lucero Shuttle Company is the oldest and most experienced, dependable, licensed, transportation service in La Ventana/El Sargento. Ride to and from the airport in a comfortable, new, air conditioned van. I have been safely shuttling satisfied passengers for many years. Market"Ultramarinos Oscaritos" has more than enough groceries, fresh veges, local cheese, bacon, along with other goodies for your stay! They will also take special orders. Use US $$ and/or pesos for cash. I recommend using the ATM machine @ Club Cerralvo with your debit card for instant cash-pesos/dollars. There are no banks in El Sargento or La Ventana. Many establishments including grocery accept credit cards, best exchange rate. |

Betsy was an incredibly responsive host and has an gorgeous home in a perfect spot. The easy access to one of the best kitesurfing beaches in La Ventana was especially appreciated. Her home is unique and feels like a real home. A perfect place to spend time in the area.
Overall a lovely stay at Betsy's place! The house is very picturesque, with amazing views from the upstairs east-facing bedroom. Betsy provides everything you need - bedding, towels, kitchen appliances, etc. There's a couple quirks with the upstairs bedrooms, but nothing you can't find work-arounds for.
My family of 4 spent a week at Casas Sueños over the thanksgiving week. The house was way better in person than the photos show. The kitchen was fully stocked with every appliance you could dream. The house was comfortable, suoer hight quality and very thoughtful in design. Beds and linens were comfortable, and super sweet community with friendly neighbors. Can’t wait to return one day! Betsy’s Casa is a Diamond in the rough. Great location, great town, great house!! It’s far enough away from the tourist hot spots, but yet close enough to drive if you want to partake. The casa is clean, has all you may need and the ac will keep the place nice and chill in the heat of day! The best part about Casa Suenos is the owner! Betsy is wonderful with communication(prompt, efficient, and effective), great with any small issue that may arise, and goes out of her way to make sure your stay is as good as it can get. Can’t say enough about Betsy, and her Casa. If you’re wanting to stay in Baja California Sur, look no further and book now. You won’t be disappointed!!
Casa Suenos is a spectacular home with a stunning view of the water. The house is extremely well appointed with everything you would need for a comfortable stay. We even took advantage of the Pizza Oven and had a make your own pizza night! Betsy is a fabulous host and very responsive and communicative. Would highly recommend this house for a very unique stay in La Ventana.
Where do I start? It was a magical 5 days for the 3 of us. Even our 15 years old ,who’s usually a very critical teenager , said wow. The house is lovingly decorated. It was squeaky clean - literally sterile. The garden is beautiful. We were stargazing every evening. el sargento is a jewel! We’ve been to Baja before and liked it but el Sargento surprised us in a good way. Thank you Betsy! We are already making plans to visit you again!
Betsy's house was a true oasis! The house is a beautiful villa on the hillside in El Sargento with amazing views of the sea and the island. We lived here for multiple weeks and never found ourselves wanting of anything- the house is amazingly stocked and felt like a home. Betsy went above and beyond to help us before and during our trip and her communication was better than we've ever experienced with our many airbnb and vrbo experiences. All around a wonderful experience!
