The grounds and the house were spectacular. The location was ideal. Would recommend it to anyone looking to stay in Santa Barbara.
Our stay was amazing, plenty of space to hang out outside along with a beautiful setting.
Very relaxing and in close proximity to everything!
We really enjoyed our time at this property. There was enough space (and outdoor space) so that our group never felt crowded. The backyard space was gorgeous, and the kitchen was great to make food in. Thank you for the wonderful time!
A beautiful, clean home and guest cottage with fabulous gardens front and back. This vacation home is located on a quiet street that has no through traffic. It is close to the beach and zoo, and minutes away from downtown State Street. My grandchildren had a fun time exploring the garden in the back yard, which was gated and secure. The adults enjoyed the many outside areas to sit and relax and watch the hummingbirds. Inside the house, the kitchen is well stocked, the bed linens and towels are upscale. Great place! Thanks to Roger for making this a hassle-free experience.
What an incredible weekend. My girlfriends and I just returned home to Chicago after spending three nights and four days in this unbelievable home. The location of the property could not have been better. We were about a half mile from downtown Montecito, about a mile and a half from East Beach and a very short 10 minute drive to State Street/ the Funk Zone in Santa Barbara. While the location was absolutely perfect, we could have spent the entire time relaxing at the property itself. Our group was comprised of 9 girls. The three bedroom main house and the cozy two bedroom cottage in the back allowed for ample room for all. The main house is incredibly spacious. The wide open kitchen was perfect for making breakfast and cooking dinner for the group. The dining room and huge living room gave us the opportunity to spend the entire time together enjoy one another's company. The cottage in the back was the perfect amount of space for four girls to lounge, sleep and get ready for our daily activities. It did not feel awkward at all being separated from the group in the back and I had originally thought it would be. It was a perfect amount of space for all. When we were choosing a home to rent for our girl's weekend, we carefully read the other reviews and viewed the pictures that were provided in the listing. Quite honestly, neither do the backyard garden justice. There was a beautiful, peaceful energy amongst the gorgeous landscape filled with an abundance of flowers, greenery and the most picturesque lemon trees. Bluebirds fluttered in the garden in the mornings and we were greeted by beautiful butterflies in the afternoon. Our entire group spent the majority of our time back here. We had breakfast at the large outdoor dining table and sipped wine in the back by the flower garden. It was, as I titled this post, pure magic. Roger could not have been a more gracious host. He was in constant contact prior to our stay and gave us all the information we needed to make our stay easy and comfortable. Our entire group agreed that this would be our perfect home away from home and that we will absolutely be making a return stay. In my opinion, this home is everything you could want in a vacation rental and I wouldn't recommend staying anywhere else if you get the opportunity. The weekend could not have been more perfect and this lovely home could not have provided a more inviting and gorgeous backdrop.
We were in town for a family wedding. This home was the perfect venue on many levels. The main house which was open and receptive to entertaining along with the 2 bedroom cottage allowed just enough separation for all guests. The patio and gardens were well maintained, lush and beautiful. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again and again. The barbecue area allowed us ample room to host a cookout. Thank you Roger.
The entire stay was fantastic. The pictures online don't do this property justice. From the first glance at the beautiful gardens you immediately go into vacation mode. The kitchen in the main house was all you could ask for. Everyone enjoyed their beds, with some saying they were more comfortable than the one in their own home. The same goes for the guest house. We had a graduation party with about thirty guests overall and we were still comfortable indoors when the evening cooled off. The guests who were from the Santa Barbara area complimented us on finding such a beautiful comfortable home. I wholeheartedly recommend this property for anyone vacationing in the Santa Barbara area.
Overall we loved our stay - we had 4 couples and was great for our first trip to Santa barbara. The listing does accurately show the house and we arrived and it was clean and the gardens were well maintained. If you have a larger group and looking to be together but also have some separation would recommend this for sure. Overall notes below: My husband and I stayed in the King bedroom in main house and slept great. Everyone else said that their beds were comfortable and loved having ceiling fans (in main house). The main bathroom was larger than the cottage bathroom (note: 1 bathroom for 6 people in main house so hope you know your group). We had some issues with hot water our first 2 days but then it kicked in and we were able to get a hot shower. The cottage house has a very small bathroom - the hot water there worked fine. There is an outdoor shower that I had wanted to use but we couldn't get the water hot so we didn't use it. The gardens are amazing. We ate some oranges and grapefruits from the tree and they were delicious. We loved getting back from the beach and sitting on the back patio with a glass of wine! There isn't much in way of walking around the area, but we took ubers out and it was about a 12 dollar uber ride into town/state street. You could bike to the beach if you were ambitious otherwise just a 5 min drive to East beach. Finally, last bit of feedback for the ladies, bring your own hair dryer! there is one in the main bathroom but it is quite old and not very effective.
Parking in the driveway and walking down the steps to the front door you just knew the inside and back garden areas were going to be amazing. The large dining room table promised a fun place for my family to gather and share memories. The couches in the adjacent living area were large and comfortable. The gourmet kitchen was amazing and stocked with everything you could possible need. The bedrooms had ample storage and closets, and the beds were very comfortable. The cottage was just perfect, also. The 3 patios provided a great view of the stunning and meticulously maintained gardens. The fruit trees were amazing. You felt tucked away in your own private paradise. Loved our stay here and would definitely recommend this to others and stay again without hesitation. Select this property, you won't be disappointed.
We arrived to a beautiful home set amongst fruit trees, flowers and gardens that were spectacular. Everyone had a comfy bed, and althoyugh we weere there during the heat wave, we enjoyed every minute and the only problem was the time went too fast. It was easy to get downtwon and enjoyed the HOTROD limo that took us on the best site seeing in the hills and canyons, where the homes were out of this world. I would definetly reccomend this place and it it really suitable if there are 2 families, having the cottage was a god send with our 1 year old niece. I could move to Santa Barbara in a heartbeat
We were in Santa Barbara for a niece's wedding and chose to stay at Eucalyptus Hill. We had a wonderful time and one of the reasons was this house! The beds were super comfortable. The kitchen and living areas were large and open. We had easy parking on property for our cars. The neighborhood was quiet. The best part of the property was the gorgeous terraced backyard with every kind of succulent possible. We felt like we were in our own secret garden. Roger was awesome to work with which made our stay stress free. I would highly recommend this property.
